I think 2x2 is set up as AW. The main difference is that with a research partner both can research the same tech and cut the research time in half.

Hm, in second thought I do have a slight preference. First of all I'm already playing a PBEM on a "wheel" map, so anything but that please.

Secondly, the earlier the better. Classical or Medieval era instead of Ancient is ok, but not much later please.

And in case you're wondering "Hey, I thought that dude was gone?!": I'm with my parents who don't have Civ4.

Just start a new PBEM and see what happens/what options you have. That's what I do when learning something new.

But I might as well to start it, if you like.

But shouldn't we choose our civs first? We could also choose random.

Otherwise I'd like Kublai Khan.
