Everyone is cautious with everyone else, except Simon is furious with me. Both other civs have OB with Simon which bodes not too good for me getting to Alpha first.

at least he's pleasant while trouncing you. I always get "Enjoyness" as the message with each save

True, I get "enjoyness" as well. Although he added to it last time "That's quite a battlefield scene unfolding on your capital."

Simon has thrown a warrior at me whihc I dispatched well and he had no opportunity to pillage anything. I'm just a few turns away from Alpha which whoever gets to first should have the upper hand.

Unfortnuately even though Simon has only 2 cities compared to my 3 and I have more pop... he has a gold hill next to his capital. which probably dooms my chances to beat him to Alpha.

well I think that Simon has given up on this game. Not that Mauer killed me in our other game, I might email him to get this going again. Simon screwed up by not trading aggressively with the AI. I was able to get Alpha a couple of turns after Simon and still got up to speed on techs.
