What are your settling plans?

South seems to be the only way that gives acceptable land, although beyond the eastern desert is ok land(?) And the rice spot you discussed could bring in some usefulness
I suppose cities will be placed for resource control here, since there is mucho desert?

Just asking, as we are all learning optimal use of terrain. Note the disclaimer in my sig.

Very interesting approach for France to gain two religions. How far are you from the AI?

That location with rice, banana, and cow looks nice. The location is actually not bad imho. Might be too much desert and mountains though. But looks like normal map after 1.09 patch. Not nice but might be playable.

It's a weird map because it's like a wheel. I don't really understand it since my exploration has met 5 civs but I've only found one country's city.

I thought about the spot akots suggested for Orleans but I wanted to get a river and coastal for better health and some more exploration. I was thinking two settlements....
One in between the rice and cow for another coastal spot. The second one I'm not sure.
I'm trying to get the sheep and rice but I may have to settle for the sheep. The alternative is to head south and cut off that spoke in the wheel along the river but it doesn't get any bonuses. Health could be a real issue it seems without rivers or roads. Lots of deserts, jungles and southeast my explorer is finding tundra....'tis a weird map.

Well I may have messed up here. While I'm building stonehenge and pyramids I decided to declare on Tubby. Problem is he has alpha so he might bring in some friends to fight me. Oops.
I won't get alpha for 9 more turns.
