Serious: When you are in Strassburg, you might consider visiting some typical Elzas villages: Ribeauville, Riquewihr, Kaisersberg.

I can also recommend the "German Museum". Munich has several interesting churches, though I'm not very fond of churches so I can't really tell. They are all pretty easy to find since they are all in downtown. Munich is a nice example of a german city. If you go in one direction from the train station you have a lot of turkish places etc and in the other direction you have all the tourist attractions and shops in the pedestrian zone.
The most impressive church is of course in Ulm (where I live), with the highest church tower in the world. It's a 45-60min drive from Munich, btw. Also, I suggest only ordering one "Weisswurst" at the beginning. I know many people who don't like them, especially my american friends. |

barbu: will you be going by car? If so, stops in many very nice places are possible.
if going by train, Ulm (the Münster = cathedral) and Stuttgart are NP at all, too.

Hey Killer,
The friend who was supposed to comme on vacation with us, cacelled his trip. So we have 2 extra tickets to the Stuttgart- Hannover game on May 7. It would be nice to have compagny, so if you are interested, (or any one else at CDZ who is in the area) PM me before thursday. This will be my only stop in Stuttgart as we are spending saturday night back in Munich.

hey barbu,
that is a great offer (many thanx), but sadly I will not be able to take you up on it - IIRC I will be in Frankfurt, dancing until me feet bleed (Germany's biggest ballroom dancing competition). You should be expecting a great game - the VfB is quite strong this year

On May 7th? Wow, I'll be in Frankfurt as well (my dad is celebrating his 60th birthday)! Too bad my girlfriend in in Australia right now, I'm sure she would have loved to go see the competition since we also dance, as you know.
That of course means that I also will not be in the area on that weekend. Iirc I was the second closest to Stuttgart (since Ulm is right in the middle of Stuttgart and Munich). |
