Anyone wanna start a Deity SG?
Put your names down here please...
I would REALLY like someone like anarres, ERIKK or Propain to lead the way and show us how its done, but if not, I'm willing to give it a go with some of my friends from here. I'm thinking of something along the lines of an SG, with an Q&A session afterwards on why people did the things they did... Anyone interested? Melifluous

I'd like to join in - I can beat Emperor comfortably but still havent beaten Deity solo although I've played a couple of games to potential winning positions.

I'd be interested, although whether I'm up to the challenge or not I couldn't say for certain.

I'll join, but no large/huge maps please - standard size only for me. I have learnt the hard way on LK39 about 2 hour turns, even on fast PC's...
What rules would people like? Honorable is always a good starting point, no phoney wars, etc. It is also good to decide which victory condition you want to go for, it will determine much from about turn 80 onwards, as well as the civ to play with. I was thinking of writing down how I decide my opening moves recently, kind of a guide, but wasn't sure if there would be any interest. There already seem to be a few around.

Wow erm well that went well...
Anyone can sign up for this, I wont close the roster for at least a couple of days, or until I have heard from everyone here... I dont want this to be just my effort, but would like to start by asking everyone what they would like to see in this game... Also I propose 24 hrs got it, and 48 hours to play (normal SG rules), except ANYONE CAN ASK FOR A 48 HOUR DISCUSSION PERIOD. Also I can be a little lax on this. Roster order can change etc etc... Also I believe the usual play is everyone starts with a 20 turn session and then its 10 after that? (If this is wrong or someone has a better idea, comment please) For WildFire444's benefit, you must also keep a COMPLETE record of nearly EVERYTHING you do each turns and (and this is my idea) WTF you did that if it isn't obvious (and many cant keep up in Deity, so this might be things you take for granted anarres). However, I want it to be fun, so as much detail as you feel comfortable with. [u]Admission</u> I have no Deity experience, I have never played past my first (humiliation/act of stupidity) in ANY Deity game. Lets start this right here... 1). What Civ? 2). Pangea / Continents / Archipelago 3). Water Coverage 60% / 70% / 80% 4). Warm / Temperate / Cool 5). Arid / Normal / Wet 6). Age 3 / 4 / 5 billion years old. 7). Do we start with a Goal in mind or just play to win in any way possible, this may affect all of the above. I think the earlier turns will be bloody crucial so I am also suggesting that some of the players I look up to (anarres, ERIKK, Col amongst others) be the first people to play their sessions. 1). I think that an Industrious Civ is a must, get those workers chugging early. 2) 3) 4) 5) and 6) Christ knows, someone suggest somink and we carry on from there. 7). Personally I would like to leave this open ended... I would like to know how good players assess their position and tailor a win to fit. Melifluous
