Default KoD6: The Land of Kings, CDZ's Kings

KoD 6; The Land Of Kings

And so it began. The Royal Family of CDZ finds herself on the eve of the greatest Single Play adventure ever to be made. In the Land of Kings combined skills and unified efforts must be pressed to the edges of possibility to create the Obelisk of CDZ! This monument will forever bring joy into the hearts and minds of CDZ-ers worldwide.
The Obelisk. It, again, will not be easy for most players. The start will overtake some as “unconventional” but listen to the hints given here and in the game and you will know what to do. In general that is.
The Brave CDZ-ers are basically divided into 5 groups. I will explain the Basics of each group now.
Group 1 are the imprisoned CDZ-kings. These Kings (units) are spread throughout the map and can go nowhere. They will have to be liberated by others. It can be a true bonus to liberate these fellow’s, as they often are technologically superior units. However, these do require support of 1 gold per turn.
Group 2 are the builders. Guided by Kings Anarres and Aggie they have already founded the Capitol, NW of the unbridgeable river. This group’s primary task is to provide funds for group 3, and later, once shipping and naval trading is possible, to be a productive core.
Group 3 are the warriors. Kings Propain and Killer are on the other side of the river and must prepare for war. Rumors tell that Vikings have possession of much needed horses. These Vikings are also general pains in the ass as berserkers are a possible future hazard for group 2! Do get Iron Working soon.
Group 4: King Beam and his rabble. Beam is stranded on a Mountaintop in the middle of the seas. On surrounding Mountains strange Impi are trying to tell him a message. He is advised to hear them out! As agreed by all Beams end goal is to construct the beloved “Statue of Frans Bauer”! This will allow trading over Sea, an unthinkable valuable prospect! The Statue requires Gems and Silks, by the way, do not expect these resources in any common place! Beam should listen to Plux as well, as he may very well get lost and his boat, as one of the Impi point out, will sink in Ocean, unlike the Normal Carracks.
Group 5 is just one guy, King Plux! He finds himself on the southern tip of a desert-island, a gigantic desert-island that is built as a giant Labyrinth that is! It is a good thing King Plux has 3 movement, so thank god for small favors. Plux’ task is to find the exit of the Labyrinth where he will find lush wheats, plenty of Grapes and the Kohinoor, the most precious of Gems (now wasn’t someone looking for that?). It is said that when a king stands on the gem and presses “B” on his or her keyboard a new city will rise!

As the game progresses you will start focusing on the end goal, the construction of the Obelisk of CDZ. It can only be done when you have both spices (easy!) and Wines (piece of cake) in one city . If you build it you win!

In Short:

- Build the Obelisk of CDZ to win
- The Statue of FB will be required to build the OoC, it is however a small wonder and Beam builds it up in no time, Beam will disappear, but he will be reincarnated as, you guessed it, Frans Bauer!
- You start with 50 gold to provide initial upkeepfunds. Please think carefully about deleting any Kingunits to reduce upkeep. I voodooed them all so deleting (e.g.) King Erikk may have some nasty effects on him. Dying gloriously on the field of conflict is acceptable. (but sacrifice is not!)
- Get rid of the Vikings soon. Their Seafaring trait is a pain in the ass, as are their Zerks!!
- Beam will spend quite some time waiting, please do not feel annoyed by this, Plux will (eventually…) get you the hints needed to decipher the codes.
- Listen to the Impi. If you do not understand, PM Kingreno for tips, do not “gamble” and throw away a possible great game because Beam does not reach the destination.
- In the scenario, all boats sink in Ocean. All transports, except Beams, will also sink in Sea. Also, as it should be, all Boats require horses!
- Galleys require the additional resource Incense. This is readily available everywhere, except for in one place: Persepolis: This means you will have to build boats on Propains and Killers lands, or get Incense to persepolis by harbor.
- Why did Firaxis fail? Harbors require HORSES!
- Astronomy, Navigation and Magnetism do no longer allow trade over sea or Ocean. The only way to trade is through the SoFB.
- The Great Lighthouse, the SoZ and the MoM are no longer in the game.
- SGL’s have been turned off.
- AI may also have some powered up units and their starts are in general awesome. Though some are screwed, as always.
- Plux will not die when he settles himself, he will live in the founded city
- Analyze the start; it is balanced in its own way
- Where the hell is Kingreno on this map?
- Be careful with Spoilers! This took me just a little too much time to be spoiled!
- Take your time. Deity is not easy. This map is not easy.
- Do Not Fish for leaders as long as Beam is alive, Beam is a “leader” too and no leader will be generated.

That is it, read twice for comprehension, and PM/MSN/Mail me with questions or suggestions, or bugs...

Enjoy!!!!

Finished it. Not just a good game to play but very funny and a good puzzle. Summary: aMAZEing. No spoilers cause that would kill the fun but there is enough opportunity to rescue some well-known characters or give them a blow! KR must have spent a lot of hours making this map and it really is worth your time.
