I'm always playing 4-5-1 these days, league or friendly. I'm clueless to why my routine in 4-5-1 dropped to solid yesterday.

when you sell or buy a player, the lower the experience, the higher the chance that your formation experience will decrease. It's in the rules somewhere.

for AIM or AOW, what recommendations do you guys have? What kind of lineup do you field? For example, do you field everyone toward middle in AIM or is it better to put some players on the wings?

The whole point about those strategy is that you don't use the wings. But it has the problem that it weakens your wing defense, I don't really like it.

well my overall attacking strength isn't too hot. I figured that I might be able to get the attacks focused in one area and then make it better.

Don't expect too much of it. It only changes the distribution of chances, but if your attack rating is too low you still won't score. Those tactics work best if you see a weakness in your opponent's defense. Otherwise it's perhaps better to play with offensive midfielders (or CD).

I may have missed the answer elsewhere, but is there a good way for estimating how close an outfielder is to popping. My most recent forward pickup has excellent scoring and inadequate passing, but appears to be somewhat close to going to formidable scoring.
If I can train him up in a week or two he adds >$200K to his value (I got him cheap because he had wretched form and no stamina giving a terrible TSI), making it more valuable than GK training, plus I can slightly boost a couple other players in the process.
