the very start of the season some people go nuts with the bidding. It's not uncommon for 17yo to go for > 1M So don't be one of the stupid people

The TSI formula for Keepers is known (although I don't know it), there are tools that compute skill<->TSI.
For other positions it is not definitely know, it's something exponential in A-Skill but B-Skill is also taken into account. It seems like there are different formulas depending on which is the highest skill. What influences TSI: The 6 "normal" skills, the stamina skill only in dependency on PM skill, form, injuries (Note: set pieces don't have an influence) - If you mean: buy your trainees: you have two options: if you now buy a 17year-old he might be cheap but is almost 18 year old. At the very beginning of next season, prices for 17yearolds are really high. Buy other players: Generally prices are dropping in off-season and start to rise after match 1 or 2 of the new season. Generally I think, prices on a mid-week day in the morning are best.
