We were engaged for only 7 months and we were very lucky that the beautiful location we had for the party was still available.

But we thought it was silly as well. But we got engaged in april, and the end of september was the limit climate-wise. Eventually we were lucky with the weather too. We could just as well have had the party on a cold rainy day at a mediocre pub.

For me the main reason was that we wanted to get married in November/December so X-mas would be during our honeymoon. So it was either within 2 months or 14 months. 2 months was just too short to get everything organised so it was 14 months.
