It would be a lot of fun having qualifications for the final, but it would require a lot of work getting it set up so that its as equal as possible
I wouldn't put too much thought into that as it's all in fun anyways. Plus, if you do it early enough, not enough people will know all the in-and-outs wrt new BtS strategies, at least not till the 2nd round.

Since BtS adds more emphasis to the later ages, you could even make them Industrial era starts with smaller maps or something. Would make the games play faster as well.
I really like that idea since its a new feature its a level playing field and it means those games don't take to long to finish

Later eras will be nice to play with; most of the new units are simply rush units. We dont want everyone playing Sitting Bull rushing everyone with dog soldiers and triple promoted archers .

Why not?

But yeah, for the tournament starting in later eras would definitely make things more interesting, and probably quicker.

i'd still prefer the grand final (if i'd make it) to be a full game or a renaissance start.

How funny is this, i went into the store to pre order BTS and there is a copy staring me in the face

Looks like the whole world is getting it before the americans, just the way it should be

I'd say for the main game to be a full game too

Yeah maybe a shorter one until the real patch comes and then a full main game.

I don't plan to install BtS until more is clear about how it interferes with the Warlords and Vanilla installtion and the impact it has on Warlords Pitboss games. http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/to...?TOPIC_ID=4569

Monday seems a bit optimistic...

Then again, some Civ versions did desperately need a patch that fast, so you never know...
