Looks like the new achievements have now been named. As expected they relate to the new Civs and Scenario. I don't know if they're yet active.

Last night I got the achievement "Buy Civ 3 Complete on Steam for $4.99 to avoid having to find your discs and playing a game of Civ 3". It was marvelous.

I just discovered that there's an achievement named "Nobody Expects the Spanish Inquisition"

So, are there still people around here that play CiV?

I'm at 99 achievements now (out of 140, but I won't be able to get about 20 'cause they're either bugged (cat fight, etc.) or in DLC's I don't own (Nobody Expects the Spanish Inquisition, etc.)).

Number 100 should come pretty soon. but it's actually pretty annoying that the log file doesn't update anymore. Now it's really hard to see what is still needed for all the cumulative achievements...

Would you say it is worth playing now? I'm about halfway in an OCC and considering to finish it.

I only got 51 achievements. I stopped playing it after I got frustrated with trying ICS on deity. It seems ICS is not so viable after the latest big patch, so I guess that I'm now frustrated by the new patch. I expect to play civ5 again when I have a decent shot at winning through spamming cities. That, or I'll just try beating deity on larger maps: with my new cpu I assume it's possible to play larger maps than normal map size.

I'm now up to 86 and am also frustrated that the log no longer updates. I've just started a game as Elizabeth - how many more ships do I have to sink? I was bad enough getting Sulieman's 10, but a couple of hundred? I really wish I could see how much more I have to slog through it. I think Defense Grid is calling me, or maybe PvZ.

Yes, but only SP, not MP. MP is woefully unbalanced.

The AI still has issues with the 1 UPT rule and does not understand that keeping some units in reserve is really useful in a war. But after the patch I feel the game is much improved. There are still plenty of things to fix, but for me these are not game-breakers.

The fact that the log doesn't update anymore and that a few simple bugs haven't been fixed (lancer's still don't register in the game stats) are quite annoying, but all in all I like the game quite a bit right now.

didn;t touch Civ V for a while now, and totally frustration free. I won't be coming back to it soon I think. Plenty of other games to play that I like better and only limited time

Like Furiey says. Def Grid and PvZ beckon. So do BG, Rome:TW and torchlight.
