i like the top one of the last two. easier on the eyes then the one with the larger units. not as cramped. trust me, i went to school for that kind of stuff.

Don't make apoll yet please, we should refine this until we come to a concensus or we can not all agree (in which case a poll would be useful).
Personally I think the image should be wider, I notice that the images by DrA are exactly the same size as the current image, this is not a restriction that needs to be followed.

i find the image harsh on the eye between the writing on the white back ground...somehow the way the words are shaded it draws my eye to that area.

okay, working up some wider less-cluttered alternatives , and I'll have a think about the shading too. |

here's a wider less cluttered version. I left the units big as with the extra space they all can fit easily enough, but I can do a small units version if wanted. I also made the 'DuelZone' taller to hopefully reduce the glare from the civ3 shading going into a white BG... not sure if it really works though. If anyone else feels their creative juices flowing please have a go! I just *really* want the rubbish snitz stuff gone asap! btw - The more I look at the lettering the more I don't like it myself. I think I prefer the style that smalltalk used in his DIG versions so if he (or someone) doesen't show up and give us something I might have a go at lettering more like that. |

Logos on white backgrounds are the most difficult to make, you know that.
I feel you need some kind of 3D effect on your lettering that will help it fit better with the units. Some kind of shadow indeed. Also you might want to have the initials C...D...Z... the same colour so that they come out much better.

Considering the term "Duel Zone", here comes a first shot! borrowing some glyphs from Firaxis and some images from Fred Zinnemans western "High Noon".
Gary Coopers rump has been cut in half, I hate it when this happens, but I found no better stills. Any ideas how to cover this up? 9.34KBx
