I came across this. Splashtop is a remote desktop gadget that works with the Ipad. Apparently it works nicely with Football Manager, but I think this should work with Civ just as well.

DL'd Pirates and now have an 8 and 11 year old addicted. Pretty fun but swashbuckler has been mastered pretty quickly.
