I had 6 cats, 3 3/3 medievils, and 3 4/4 medievils.
I replayed, but the outcome is totally different. We have no fixed seed? Weird.......

I believe we do have. If we don't...we don't know it!
Perhaps you used another order the second time.

Persia reports 4 Egyptian cities that have been "pacified" at little losses, in 3 of those the citizens were incapable of grasping the true meaning of the Persian way of life, offering continued resistance to their liberators, forcing the Persian army to put these cities to the torch.

Furthermore, a large battle took place in the jungle near Giza, resulting in a victory for the Persian cavalries.

(A detailed battle report is on the way to grs, of course).

I move my 5 catapults and 5 Med Infs to the north.
I catapulted one cav to 1/4 and one to 3/4. After that I killed them both.

Shah Kemal addresses nation
***Japan attacks Persia***War in Egypt continues***
************************************************** ********************

Persepolis, 390 AD
Following recent events in the west, Shah Kemal addressed the nation of Persia today, speaking on the situation of Persian troops at the front, and the attack on Persia by Japanese troops.

The complete text, as spoken by our Great leader at a conference in Persepolis:

"
My fellow countrymen!

Yesterday, the 12th of december 390 AD -- a date which will live in infamy -- The Persian Empire was suddenly and deliberately attacked by ballistic and ground forces of the Empire of Japan.

The Persian Empire was at peace with that nation, and not any communications indicating hostile activity against Persian countrymen had been received from the government or leader of the Japanese.

It will be recorded that the distance between the Empire of Japan and the place where the attack took place makes it obvious that this attack was deliberately planned years ago.

The attack yesterday, taking place near the ruins of the former Egyptian city of El-Amarna, has caused severe damage to Persian mounted forces. I regret to tell you that very many Persian lives have been lost, with the 36th and 37th cavalry regiments being surprised and overwhelmed completely.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the former Egyptian area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the Empire of Persia have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us.

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated attack, the Persian people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on December 12th, 390 AD, a state of war has existed between the republic of Persia and the Japanese empire.

"

Though there have been some doubts regarding its exact origin, the Shah's speech was very well received throughout the Persian Empire it seems, as the population seems determined to overcome this new task set before them, with polls indicating almost unanonimous support for the war in the west.

Meanwhile, after 20 years of intense combat, a breakthrough seems to have been forced against the Egyptian empire, with several commanders reporting victory in a massive offensive campaign against Egyptian fortifications that has been taking place recently.
Based on the unfortunately only limited information available so shortly after the campaign took place, military experts have assessed that current state borders might have to be redrawn severly. Based on their assessments, The Persian Times has compiled the following picture to supply their readers with the necessary information:

Of course, continued coverage of the war will be delivered in forthcoming issues of your favourite newspaper, The Persian Times!

[u]Announcement</u>
I have been questioning about this for days, but reached my conclusion.

I have a non-agression pact with Persia which lasts for about 10 turns. I have a military alliance with Egypt (and Japan). Egypt has been Straland's best friend throughout the entire game, and since Kemal is the aggressor I should legitimately declare war to Persia. The enemy of my friend is my enemy.

It's a very fundamental question for me what I ought to do: try to keep my chance of winning at maximum (we're talking about 0.1 to 0.2%). Or try to keep the only thing I have left: my honour?

I'd rather keep that.

Straland will declare war to Persia!!

Right! Last thing I heard was:

Fact 1: the fact that tons of Samurai's were walking in your lands...
Fact 2: Japan 'Pearl Haboured' Persia...
Fact 3: you are pissed off because you are not wearing the latest fashion...

Maybe all that helped your decision to NOT keep up to an agreement?
