Gman--I am not an expert on this topic. There isn't big call for telescope, other than to peer into someone's house, in Chicago. My aunt is the one who sent the information on Mars to me and my cousin has one so I will check with them.

Guy, I hate to spoil your fun but the message posted by Whomp is a hoax. The real encounter was indeed 2 years ago as Beam mentioned. I received it aswell and I checked on it only to find out from some astronomic forums that it is the message spread around in 2003 with the year changed.
