Looks like this game is going like the BTS PAL pitboss I was in a couple years ago. I think you filled in for me in that one as well. Onan rushed to a mighty army to defend his lands while he shot for a cultural win, and succeeded. Mostly because everyone around him wouldn't band together and take him out. Or at least until it was too late anyways, which is exactly where this looks to be going.

I've got my Caravel and spy accross to slaze. I decided to walk through his territory to Dan since i know so little. For all his advancement he could be in trouble if someone came after him as the cities i've seen are guarded by a single warrior. The caravel will continue north to meet Donovan since he is the only player left for me to meet. My nation: Far South, including the new city of Romo (guess mauer would be happy with the name) Mid South North Demographics. Printing Press should help a bit more when i get it Culture Graph. As you can see Dan's tangent changed about 15-20 turns ago and stayed changed. If he is going for a cultural win, his three culture cities are York, Warwick and Nottingham, which just happen to form a neat triangle. Only York can be invaded from sea (so you can guarantee his navy will be there) and by land they are centrally located. So if thats what he is doing he finds himself in a great spot to pull it off

The uptick can be explained by the adoption of free speech which doesn't have to mean he is going for cultural win. His 5 civics are Representation, Free Speech, Caste System, Free Market, Pacifism is geared for a specialist economy but they don't exclude a the possiblility of going for a cultural win either. He is still aiming for military techs, i would guess once he has infantry and artillary he would start uping the cultural output if that's what he is planning on, until then its just guessing

Pacifism and caste system would imply that he is perhaps attempting to pump GA's out now and are the better civics to have if going for a cultural win for obvious reasons in an MP game there is no point in having them otherwise as you guys are past the point where the immediate benefits of an SE are apparent.
You can probably check which Great people he is pumping out to decide which way he is going, if it is GS's (and a lot of them) then it is economy but if it is GA's then culture and you can check that in ctrl+tab iirc.

I had a look, he has had a engineer, artist, scientist and 2 merchants in the last 5.
At that rate he could set up a mutiple GA

Been a bit busy so the update's a behind schedule, although there is not much that was missed. I've been looking at every possible angle at how i can manufacture a victory from this point in the game, but with 4 people ahead of me (and the rest) by a fair margin it not possible to get past all of them bogged down wnough to catch up. Anyway my new target is to finish up as best of the rest. I think the best way to do that is by trying to take out beam in the not too distant future. I'm still building mostly infrastructure at this point as i feel the best way to achieve a victory without too much pain is to beat him to infantry. I've also been looking around at slaze and akots lands with my spies. I think slaze is definately in a better position than Dan to win at the moment. Dan has been blockaded by someone or even a number of people cooperating. It will be interesting to see if this will lead to greater hostilities Nation Cities Demographics

We have reached 200 turns so i figured i'd post some more screenshots.
I'm statrting to suffer unhappiness from others having emancipation so researching democracy has become a priority. I'm having to run 10% culture in the meantime to compensate. Other then that i'm still building up looking to get infantry to take on Beam Nation. I'll be filling out my area more soon Cities Techs Demographics
