In ptw the arabs are expansionist: two huts to pop right in sight! lmk if there's iron in sight (I HATE non iron maps) and I might give it a shot.

Finished this map a week ago. Played extremely quick and thus sloppy resulting in loads of civil unrest. Won by spaceship. It's a very doable map and I can recommend it.

Why do PTW saves stay in ptw mode when loading it in c3c?

Because the bic/bix/biq-data is stored in the savegame.
But I guess corruption does change.

Corruption calculations are part of the core game engine and are not "rules" (which is what the BIX stores). This is why those kinds of calculations will always work with the latest incarnation and the "rules" will remain from patch to patch.
