@shabba, I dont know if they get more TV revenues. Considering the state Portugal is in my theory is that they spent all their money on football clubs and now seek EU help to fix their finance problems.

So we paid for their clubs

Ooo, here as well! When Premier League teams play in the Champions League, the city is shut down, but the pubs are packed.
