The front page is in the building
It's been a while but now we have a front page again! WOOT.
It's configured so that recent posts in the Site Stuff - Front Page News forum are displayed here. In good old CDZ tradition I haven't restricted this forum so we can all use this forum and post news worthy of the front page. Please be gentle with our new front page friend and don't spam him to death. Also if you want get attention to a specific thread: please post threads in the specific forum and use this one to write a front page article about. Please avoid starting all new threads in the front page forum because that will clutter up the forum. Example:I hope you'll enjoy our new front page and now start writing up news!! PP

Very nice PP. I see I can change all that stuff in the control panel. That's nice. There's some stuff that's double (several links to user cp for instance) or unwanted (do we need a calendar?), but we'll figure that out over time. I think we could rearrange the columns to two columns. To start with I was looking where I could change the logo from referring to the forum to referring to the front page. But that's minor nitpicking, at a first glance it looks as if the front page would actually be a proper start page for most users

Rearranging stuff in the front page seems rather easy. If you wanna change to 2 collumns I'd say: go ahead. Same for adding/deleting features like the calender and user CP.

Although I like the blue standard lay-out a lot, it's also very standard. I'd love to see someone make it a bit more CDZ unique.
That would make CDZ coffee mugs more interesting as well

So when does a news item "fall" off of the front page?

You can define that in the admin CPMS options. I think it's either a certain amount of time and/or a max number of items that can be displayed.
