Spain shows what Holland should have done: close marking of Arshavin by a defender, and a lot of movement by the midfielders. That, and less whining. Granted, the spanish defenders are way better, but Spain shows that Russia isnīt that good. For the second time.

oh I am glad Spain won! How can any team dare run onto the field of a EM final and give such a lackluster performance as Ballack & Co.?

Do all Germans feel that way? Sure, I agree with you, but if I were a German I would've been disappointed that Germany lost...because it's my country.

Take it from a Dutchmen:
It's a lot better to win with bad play, than to lose "with your head held high, saying 'at least we played well'".

No, not at all. Seems like a lot of people were disappointed. OTOH, one can say that they lost vs a really good team, which makes it easier.

Personally, it was easy for me, as I like Spain and la seleccion, I said before the match: May the better one win.

And the clearly better one won...Spain was surely the best team of the tournament as they had no really bad game.

I can't say the Germans didn't try yesterday, but they were just too weak. In midfield they too often let the Spanish have too much room for their passes and the German attacks, especially when they were looking for Klose's head, they seem to have had some wrong glasses...

After all, I think it was a great tourney. We have seen a lot of fast speed attacks, Fair Play and some nice goals. OK, most of these goals take their beauty out of the passes that were before, there was almost no beautiful goal if you only look at the final shot.

Therefore, coming 2nd in a great tourney, it's a success for the German national team (why don't we have a name for our national team, almost everyone has one...), no matter how they played.

There were some great passes and some great anticipations/escapes from defenders. Sweinsteiger's goal against Portugal, for example.

When it comes to beautiful goals on itself I think Robben's goal against France could be one of the best. Also the last goal of the tournament by Torres.

Been watching some games of Euro 2008 in English and Scottish pubs. Great fun!
Really enthousiastic people, even if their teams weren't in the games at all.

Lots of Germans in Newcastle for the Final though. Not that many Spaniards, but boy, were they loud...
