Logic puzzle
I have a puzzle for you!
There is a rule that determines if a square belongs in the right side or left side - your job is to work out the rule and determine which squares at the bottom go in left and which in right. If you want to guess the answer please say which sides the bottom squares go in. Since giving the answer doesn't really help determine the rules, please do not give the rules if you work them out so others can still play. 15.46KB Clues can be given if no-one gets it...

I guess I suck at puzzles. Embarassing for a pro. BTW, Anarres, I found out from one of your recent posts at the CDG-UN, that we share the same profession. But this puzzle makes me feel like I won my diploma at the lottery.

hehe. I can't even remember what I said at the UN, but my job involves so many things I could have said anything to do with software, or could you be refering to my Maths degree? Regarding the puzzle - a mate of mine gave it to several people at work to solve because he had it for 3 days and couldn't work it out. I was lost on it for a very long time - coming back to it several times over the last couple of days, and eventually had an epiphany and 'saw' the answer. If you want I can give a clue - the answer has something to do with one or more of the following: Position, direction and length.

Like thats a useful hint. I'd have been worried if the answer was nothing to do with position length and direction!

I'll have to come up with a code to represent the position and then check out all the combinations....
