Best buy, obviously So you can recommend the Ritz from experience? Is it worth the money?

I can't say I've ever stayed in a London hotel, I've either been living there or as I am now less than an hour by train outside London. My impression was that they were either bloody expensive or rubbish. There are some people at work who stay in London, I'll ask them when they're next in the office.
What sort of standard hotel are you looking for? Location? |

Double room, somewhere in the city centre and/or near the tube (as we'll be doing standard tourist business) in a neigbourhood where you don't get robbed at first sight. I'm not looking for the cheapest way to stay, but I know there can be huge differences between hotels within the same price category. A lot of hotels aren't strictly better than a hostel...

on the subject of hotels, im really not sure about london, if i go down i stay with emma and her mum. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ that website there is normally spot on, so if you do find a hotel run it through there.

I asked around at work and they tend to stay in the RAF or Army & Navy club which won't be a lot of use to you. Someone had a DK travel guide though and I copied a couple of pages
I've got the pages with the more expensive hotels if you want to look at those as well. Or look in the website of the travel guide : http://traveldk.com/london/category/places-to-stay |

Thanks a lot! As these are up to 200 pounds I don't think the expensive hotel overview is necessary

I think the ££££ ones on that page make it as they sometimes have reduced weekend rates, but you certainly don't need to be able to throw a rock very far to hit an expensive hotel in London!
