It is only 10% both up and down. Your sponsor money increases slightly, even for the same number of fans (though not significantly). Your attendence will increase relative to supporter mood (which will likely drop, evening things out). Better seeding in the cup is nice to get a slightly longer run. You don't pay your players any more, just you usually need better players, causing the salary increase.

On the other hand, I don't think you need to worry too much about promotion. There are two stronger teams in the league than you meaning you will likely get one more loss. So even if you win, you would get to play a qualification game where your odds are pretty bad.

All this being said, I'd keep improving your team and try and promote, maybe not this season, but in the near future as you now have a much better core team.
