You seem pretty well set up for defenders and wingers...half your squad seem to be ideal wing backs lol

Half your good playmakers lack stamina, which means your midfield will be a little below par.

You have 2 decent strikers in Duncan Harper and Hugh Feardson but you might have problems if one of them is injured.

If I were you I'd sack Archie Cunningham and Joe Adamson ASAP, they're both pretty well useless

Pretty decent overall I'd say, if you want a quick boost to your team then look for 30+ yr old players on the cheap, they will give you a handy short term boost, look for passable-solid skills. Don't go mad though, becuase in afew seasons the old guy will be money down the drain, and you should save your money for trainees which will be a better investment in the long run.

Training youngsters is the key to long term progress in Hattrick. The basic idea is that you buy em cheap when they're young, train them for afew seasons, then sell them for a profit, which is used to improve your team and buy new trainees, rinse and repeat etc etc

I'd reccomend you pick a position to train, I reckon keepers or wingers are easiest especially to start with, then buy two or three young players to train. They should be at least passable in their primary skill, eg goalkeeping for keepers, and preferably have a decent secondary skill too. They have to play in matches to recieve training, doesn't matter if they're league games or friendly games as long as they play. You should see some progress in afew weeks, their TSI will rise and every few weeks they will pop up a skill level. After they reach excelent skill level you can think about selling them, its a trade off between cash now and cash later, its up to you though I would wait until outstanding at least.

I don't know how big your stadium is but if its less than 10,000 I would upgrade it, it will get you some useful cash when you play the bigger teams in your league.

Out of interest, how does the training thing work? should i change that at all- like percentage or what its focusing at? i havnt got a new coach yet either. my stadiums 12,000 anyways so i dont think i need to update that and i put in a couple of bids for a keeper :) and have a friendly planned, im 5th out of 7 in my league playing the team with equal points with me next game so thanks for your help :)

The 'platypus guide' has quite afew good tips, you could normally find it here: http://www.hottrick.org/ but for whatever reason it is currently unavailable..look out for I guess.

You might want to poke around here too: http://wiki.hattrick.org/Main_Page

Darth Pugwash 09-04-2006 00:43

Ah, crosspost there

100% training intensity is the way to go, you will get slightly more injuries but not too many. It must be focused on what you want to train, eg for keepers set it to keeper training etc

Your coach should be passable I think, though you could go lower if the price is too high.

Keep in mind that a player only gets trained if he is in the right position...eg only players in defence will get defense training (if thats what your training for exampe)

You can rotate your trainees, so for example if you had 2 keeper trainees you could play one in the league and one in friednlies for double the number of players trained.

Playing games, league or friendly, keeps your players form up which is important to consider for your reserve players who may not get games in the league

kk will do, also this money i get from doing things like looking at newbie conference etc, can i use it on anything or why does it go in the 'temporary' area of the finance bit?

BCLG100 09-04-2006 01:35

also can you set different people for different types of training? or is it just in a squad?

Darth Pugwash 09-04-2006 01:49

Nope...only one type of training for the whole squad (it is all the rules on the site)

Tempory bit of the finance thing is money that is a one-off like selling a player for example.

BCLG100 09-04-2006 01:53

Yer but it says i have 100,000 grand there and my total profit should be 80,000 or something but i only have 30,000 is this because i get the rest at the end of the week or something along them lines?

Darth Pugwash 09-04-2006 01:57

Yup, your finances are updated every friday IIRC.
