hmmm,
The CRC error means the file is corrupted looks like corrupted file is already on your hard disk..so i guess during the install the files are coped from CD into a temporary location on your hard disk, which may have a dodgy sector. Maybe you you run teh WinXP checkdisk and try the install again. Checkdisk will flag any bad sectors so that that part of the hard disk can no longer be used. Dont' get to stressed about losing a sector is not very big. |
whats checkdisk????
is that disc cleanup or disc defrag??? neither i have done in awhile so ill do them anyways :) |
in "My Computer" right click on C drive, select properties, click on tools tab, run the error checking feature.
Hav'nt run it myself since Win95 days, but it will take a few hours i think |
ok well ill do it over night, cheers :)

this is probably a stupid suggestion, but look at the CD surface and see if there's any gunk or large scratches on it. I had a problem last Summer where C3C stopped loading altogether. turns out my 2yr old was pulling it out of the CD, with his dirty hands and all. To get it to load (because it needs to read the stupid disc to run [mad] ), I had to clean it.

I garee with Grahamiam. I associate a Cyclic Redundancy Check - error (CRC error) with a read error on a CD.
Dirty disk / cracked disk / dirty lens / crooked CD-drive. |
but i was able to play it before i uninstalled, i only uninstalled so i could install again to open the damn MTDG save.

Any Starforce installed?
|
whats starforce???
ill go have a look but i dont think so. |
