Beating the Psycho defence from Hell with CA?

How the fuck do you do it?

Do you

a) Try to absolutely dominate the midfield knowing it'll get used against you?

or

b) PIC and let them take possession in a vain attempt to cancel their CA?

It's driving me bleedin potty, I have 2 heavy defence, formidable CA teams in my division and they're really starting to get my goat...

I have no experience with this whatsoever, but I hear the way to go is to enhance your attack in anyway possible. So you score more and he gets no chance to counter attack. I think this is only effective way to deal with those counter players, I have only played one and he just wasn't good enough.

If you let him take the midfield, he will still get at least 43% possession after the CA-penalty, meaning 3 to 4 regular chances, and only 6 to 7 chances for you to score from. If you win midfield considerably, you'll likely get 8-10 chances, while he gets 0-2 + 1-3 CA chances, which is a more favourable outcome for the non-CA player since he will need more chances against a rock solid defense anyway.

Since CA players usually score no more than 2 goals, going for forwards or wingers that can create a SE goal could be worth it, especially if their defense is so good you're not likely to score even with your best forwards, and having a very good set pieces taker should more or less mean a goal too, since CA teams usually train defenders, not goalkeepers.

You can also try to stop their attacks if they have weak forwards by boosting your defence. Although its generally more important to boost your attack. In terms of midfield I agree with Kemal.

Being a CA-team myself I enjoy the beating up of Midfield only teams quite a lot. Yes. indeed. The solution? Yes. indeed. there are several.

If their attack is weak enough you can do as much as you can to strengthen your defense while maintaining a high midfield and a reasonable attack. If they only score 1/3 of their chances and their midfield is 20-30%, than chances are they'll only score once.

From your 8-9 chances, you should be able to score 2 goals and win the match.

I saw you drew 1-1, was that okay? His CA was not very impressive I have to say.

Not started yet.

I may well talk a little more after the match starts...
