http://www.civstats.com/viewgame.php?gameid=1115

Password to register your leader is abc.

The theme:

http://www.civduelzone.com/forum/att...1&d=1224012600

Essential info for playing:

How to log in:
- Start Civ4 - BtS
- Go to Multiplayer --> Direct IP Connection
- Fill in your nickname for Player Name and 83.161.37.29 OR haagsma.demon.nl OR beam.linuxhome.com (whatever suits your ruined brain best ;) ) for Network Address and click Connect.
- Select your civilization and click Ok.
- Choose a password and fill it in twice. Next time, it will ask for the same password. (No shit! )
- Play!
- Exit to menu when you're done! The connection doesn't close properly when you exit the game directly, resulting in the game going slower and slower every time someone does that. In effect I would have to save and reload the game every turn.

When you leave the game always use "Exit to Main Menu!"

I suspect that "Exit to Desktop" does not close your connection properly and leaves some components of an Active Peer.

The doublemove rule in this game:

Doublemoves are allowed in all cases except when accompanied by a declaration of war. In that case the declaring player is not allowed any offensive action against declared player until either:
a) 18 hours after end of the turn where war is declared.
b) the declared player logs in after end of the turn where war is declared.
The declaration of war itself still allows units of the declaring player offensive actions against the declared player in the turn where war is declared.

Not useful for logging in the first time.

That doesn't work for BtS, does it?

And will you be using beam.homelinux.com again?

Mwaah, removed that piece.

beam.homelinux.com seems to be inactive. Where again can I go to reactivate or ask for a new one?

akots 14-10-2008 22:17

Please switch me with RobiD. :)

Beam 14-10-2008 22:19

Matrix 14-10-2008 23:45

Success!

akots 14-10-2008 23:57

I'll check when I get home.

BTW, Beam, in your signature, the links are crooked, please correct.

NHJ 15-10-2008 10:00

barbu1977 15-10-2008 16:48

Played and ready to kick but!

Beam 15-10-2008 19:17

All but two have played and I have PM'ed IanDC and Plux to kick their asses.

Imo we should keep the clock ticking and go next turn in about 4 hours.

akots 16-10-2008 02:41

Well, neither Plux nor IanDC claimed their civs. Shouldn't we wait? Or just proceed?

Beam 16-10-2008 10:34

Yeah, I'd hate to waste another turn on the unclaimed civs. What we can do is consider them vacancies and look for 2 additional players. Meantime I can put them to AI just before the end of this turn if there are no takers. The AI will most likely settle and go researching Archery at this stage.

OK with that or another option?

socralynnek 16-10-2008 11:00

The other option is to pause the game. Once Ian and Plux have logged in, the game can go on. I am fine with giving them, let's say another day or so. I mean, the game will surely take some months anyway, so stopping it for a day would be no problem for me.

Matrix 16-10-2008 13:33

I'm with socralynnek. Better wait a day rather than waste two civs.

Beam 16-10-2008 15:13

Plux has jsut claimed so we are waiting for IanDC whom I've also send a PM and e-mail thru that other site.

IanDC 16-10-2008 19:01

Got the e-mail thanks - I'm in.

Why are we always wanting on Simon. [rant] ;)

Beam 17-10-2008 19:57

Updated the first post with two alternate aliases you can use to connect to the game. :)

Beam 22-10-2008 16:34

The game has just been restarted. Please pick your new civ in the first post. :)

NHJ 22-10-2008 16:56

Done, Al-Nicodemad of Arabia has played his first turn. Starting position is much improved!

Holy Beam seconds that.

Many thanks Mauer! [goodjob]

Matrix 22-10-2008 17:18

My starting position is somewhat the same, although surroundings have improved, as far as I can tell.

I think it will all work out. If not, I did my best to balance things out :)

I know this map has probably 2X or 3X more bonuses (of all kinds) on the map than the last one did. Should be fun and I actually wish I was playing it. Would have been even better that I know the map :D

BCLG100 23-10-2008 00:31

Yeah, you may have made it to the AD's or something kerazy like that! ;)

akots 23-10-2008 08:06

Claimed the cursed Koreans. Starting location is quite nice but the leader sucks.

Robi D 23-10-2008 10:30

I was going to ask for a swap since i've just finished an epic SP game with Japan, but everyone else had already claimed their civs.

Have to say my start is slightly worse then the other game, but the surroundings (what i can see) look more promising then before.

mauer 23-10-2008 22:28

I'm convinced that you can't please everybody even some of the time ;)

akots 23-10-2008 23:00

Yes, it is part of the game. May be if you complain, the random becomes more favorable. That is a strong belief among many however unsupported by actual observation. [lol]

NHJ 31-10-2008 00:33

Ooh yeah, Islam is mine

mauer 05-11-2008 21:44

Anyone dead yet?

Beam 05-11-2008 22:10

Simon worried me a bit but he resurrected today.

BCLG100 10-11-2008 18:44

Beam 13-11-2008 13:04

I'll be home in a few hours, made a save this morning.
