Spa - Nl

Unfortunately 4 years too late.

Indeed, but still this calls for a few a drinks :)

Socrates 14-06-2014 10:30

Unbelievable match! What a treat to spaink the world champions that way. I really liked NL's offensive skills.
Oh, and van Persie's first goal (diving head) will make it to the Top Five of this WC.

Indeed :(

I'm glad they actually played (more than) decent for a change, the last year was a poor one to watch the national team play.

Lt. Killer M 17-06-2014 00:01

Spain and Portugal dismantled by Holland and Germany....... hm, is this a reference to the current state of the EU? ;)

a fun game to watch, but now please do tell how you built that roboplayer Robben!

Shabbaman 17-06-2014 18:57

We sent him to Germany so he could become inhuman.

Wrong and thus funny on multiple levels.

Shabbaman 18-06-2014 21:03

I'm having kangaroo steak for dinner tomorrow.

Do I really have to have Swiss fondue this weekend? ;)

Also, Spain was so painful to watch tonight.

You should have watched Russia vs South Korea. THAT was painful.

Shabbaman 19-06-2014 15:09

I love Swiss fondue!

Rik Meleet 20-06-2014 20:05

Michael Schumacher: Spain - Netherlands 1-5, Uruguay-Costa Rica 1-3, Germany - Portugal 4-0? What year is it?

Great match to watch. Good to see France back where they belong.

Socrates 21-06-2014 13:09

Seriously, France v Netherlands could be a hell of a good game, clichés aside (art soccer v football total lol).

I don't think I've ever jumped as high during gymnastics as when Sneijder made that goal. [jumpD]

Socrates 30-06-2014 21:50

Tough game, but France is also in 1/4. Come on Germany!! :D

ProPain 01-07-2014 12:17

Missed the France game due to work, but saw Germany - Algeria. If Germany plays like that France will secure that semifinal spot no problem.

socralynnek 01-07-2014 13:35

And if France plays like their first 70 minutes yesterday, then the game should be cancelled and Chile or Mexico should be brought back for the semifinals...

(I'd rather bet my money on France than on Germany though at the moment)

Socrates 01-07-2014 21:13

France v Germany will be the "real final". Either team will then win the World Cup. I said. ;)

this!

Shabbaman 02-07-2014 14:37

I saw Belgium vs USA yesterday. Now I believe the zombie apocalypse has finally begun. Terrible football until overtime.

France v Germany was a mediocre match. Well, it's already a little miracle to have reached 1/4 final, given how hard it was to qualify for this World Cup. Hopefully the team will be more experienced for the Euro 2016 in France.

Lt. Killer M 07-07-2014 19:16

at least the FRAGER game was more exciting than watching paint dry.

Generally I think most games were great to watch. I've seen worse championships really.

Lt. Killer M 08-07-2014 11:38

yes. lots of blood and goals

Germany though plays like Schlaftabletten

Socrates 08-07-2014 22:53

Half time for Germany. We sure saw that coming, Brazil is just a very mediocre team in this tournament. If only we had beaten Germany.................

ProPain 08-07-2014 23:09

First 30 minute world cup semifinal I've ever seen.

ProPain 08-07-2014 23:58

Wow, just wow.

Do think that Germany better could have left it at 0-5. This adding insult to injury will put an even more highly motivated Brasilian squad on the field against them for the coming decade :)

Socrates 09-07-2014 01:26

As soon as the first match against Croatia, Brazil's blatant weaknesses were exposed. Nothing has changed in 6 matches at all. They are lucky to have survived to the semi-final.

As before the quarter-finals, I still think that Germany will win it (or France if we had won). Hopefully tomorrow the Oranje will kick some white-and-blue ass and we'll have a very good football show on Sunday. Go Europe! :D

Socrates 10-07-2014 01:30

Very disappointed by this non-match. The enthusiasm of NL's victory over Spain is long gone...

Shabbaman 10-07-2014 07:56

It's overrated anyway: it's only 4 years since we won a semi, but it's the first time in 9 years we won a tour stage.
