PPPC, part two, or "Return of the Spam Storm"
It's about Propain's post count again. After a slow start he stormed past Anarres, and he's got a good shot at BCLG. Claiming some real life excuse (really, since when does work count as an excuse?) not to spam, BCLG's spam storm has come to a grinding halt. Propain is at 5045 now, only 100 less than BCLG100. With an average of 1.72 posts per day Propain might get there in 58 days. Or he might not get there at all, you never know. What do YOU think is going to happen?
I think BCLG is going to be a civil servant which will make him race the post count ladder and pass us all.
I'm preparing for the trademarked Propain Spam Storm.

Ooo, look at Darkness' bright moment of the day! [tongue]
Well this seems like a challenge if anything.
edit- let's not forget my posts per day beats pretty much everyone, including shabba. |
OK, judging from the sudden increase in new posts, I see you're taking this very serious.
Be warned, so do I [shoot][ninja] C:\ProPain\spamstorm.exe /infinite GL HF :) |
Well it's back over 100 now at least, i guess it's only a matter of time before it's in to the 1000's
We're in it for the long run I see. :)
Well i'm already growing my lead back, surprising considering the sparseness of threads.

I doubt it. When you write a paper you usually had your bright moment some time before you actually finish it, so that's no definite proof you had more than one bright moment.

So much for my thinking I had a nice and productive day yesterday... :( |
I generally have at least one bright moment on the final day of a paper, unfortunately it's generally after i've handed it in :(

What I like about this new poll is that according to the current result people expect Propain to go on holiday in some part of the world that hasn't discovered the internet. So basically over the last year most members have started to know Propain better. When is your next holiday PP?
Next one is the first week of May. It's in Drenthe so I fully expect to have no decent mobile internet whatsoever.
Sometimes I wonder why I pay for that mobile internet anyway. Most of the time it only works in places that have internet already anyway...... |
I voted that last time but voted differently this time as it will never happen.
I fear this is gonna take way longer than 40 days with BCLG spamming as he is now.
But I can always resort to admin post count manipulation :D |
I'd probably still beat you.
I was going to vote for the holiday, but then I noticed the epic spam storm and went for that option.
Epic spam storm? Where?
I don't see a storm....
Somebody help me find that storm
Poor spamming....
Multiple posts in a row, if that's how we're playing it then you're definitely going down! |
That's a dangerous thing to say to someone with admin powers... don't you remember the marmite/vegemite poll?
I remember that poll, but what was up with admin meddling in that poll?
Anarres edited the poll descriptions to suit his personal preference. To this day he insists that there was no fraud whatsoever. Well, to this day... can't say that for sure, but to this day 5 years ago that was the case ;) Anyway, I certainly wouldn't point Propain to the option to edit postcount in the admin panel.
Already mentioned that option in a post I made in another thread so don't worry: I;m very aware of the option :)
But it feels too much like the easy way out |
Continuing the spam war from my iPhone while visiting my in laws :)
I just have to wait till you go on holiday for four months without internet
With two little kids that's unlikely to happen. I'll be in Italy for fout weeks in July though so there's à fairly big window of opportunity
I'm Italy as well but in June!
There's internet in Italy...
There's internet in THE netherlands as well, untill you plan your holiday in soms godforsaken place in THE sticks :)
I suspect my wife calls ahead to make sure intrnet Connection is limited so i won't spend my days posting at CDZ and gaming |

The problem might be price rather than the availability.
OTOH, the romans already had mobile phones. With all those digging in Rome, they never found some telephone cable. (Great joke, isn't it?) |
rofl. Price won't be an issue, I have a mobile internet plan that covers foreign mobile internet as well for a reasonable price. So availability really is the constraining factor. And I mostly stay is somewhat more remote places by a lake or other body of water (kids love swimming) instead of in a big town.
I don't have mobile internet, I even have to turn 3G off. The Uk phone companies rape your wallet when you go abroad with that.
We were in Rome last octobre, in an apartment in the city centre (next to the campo de fiori). The apartment was renovated, but the building itself dated back to the 13th century. It did have wifi however. Free wifi is more common over there than it is here in the Netherlands (because let's face it: why would any sane dutchman give away something for free if you can get paid for it?).
