USA presidential elections

There's a "StemWijzer" (sort of election guide) in Dutch here. Not that we're allowed to vote, but just for fun. ;)

Here's my result:

But I'm in favour of Obama anyway. [tongue]

And I'm glad the big gap between the democratic and republican candidates shows. :D

In case some non-Dutch speaking poor souls would like to do the test as well, here's a translation of the questions:
Eens = Agree
Oneens = Disagree
Weet niet = Don't know

1. There has to be a binding time schedule for withdrawal from Iraq.
2. The decision to invade Iraq was just.
3. The US and Iran should re-enter into direct diplomatic relations.
4. The new president should promise only to invade Iran with explicit permission of the congress.
5. The US should set concrete targets to reduce emission of greenhouse gasses.
6. More nuclear plants should make America less dependent on oil from foreign countries.
7. Bush' tax cuts should be made permanent.
8. The new president should under no circumstances raise taxes.
9. To protect it's own market, America should levy more taxes on the import of products.
10. A health insurance should be compulsory for all Americans.
11. The old-age pension/payment can be reduced.
12. The social security system should be partially privatized.
13. The highest incomes should be laxed more to preserve the social security system.
14. The federal government should abolish the tolerance of illegal immigrants in cities like New York and Dallas.
15. To qualify for a green card illegal immigrants should leave the country first.
16. Illegal immigrants should be allowed to receive a driver's license.
17. Women themselves should be allowed to decide about abortion.
18. Financial support for stemcell research should be expanded.
19. Gay marriages should be banned by the American constitution.
20. Parents should receive a voucher to choose for a public or private high school.
21. To improve education the power of labor unions for teachers should be restricted.
22. The legislation on sales of weapons to civilians should be more strict.
23. The Patriot Act is meant to fight terrorism. Additional measures should increase the protection of the privacy of civilians.
24. The exceptional prison in Guantánamo Bay should close.
25. Application of the death penalty should be made more difficult.

Huckabee has the merit of being the one guy with Chuck watching his back. I'm not sure it reflects my political convictions though, from what I heard/read of the campaign.

How did you do that? [confused] babelfish.altavista.com?

Must say this is generally how I would have picked them myself, though Giuliani would be lower and Edwards and Obama would score better even if they wouldn't move up too much (beat out Clinton and Giuliani, challenge McCain). That and Thompson would have a much more significant lead.

Thanks for the link and translation help Matrix. Always useful to know how the world views things as well as just the locals. Unfortunately WI doesn't have their primary until Feb. 19, when everything has been essentially decided, but I still plan on voting anyway.

I must say I'm not sure what's Giuliani's platform, I'm a bit surprised to have a republican in there ;) But I am in favor of tax cuts, in spite of the general leftness of Canadians wrt the standard in America, in which I generally include myself.

Here were my results. Still undecided on Romney or Thompson personally. BTW, I would never vote for any of the current Democratic candidates.

Mitt Romney (R)
Fred Thompson (R)
Mike Huckabee (R)
Rudy Giuliani (R)
John McCain (R)
Hillary Clinton (D)
Barack Obama (D)
John Edwards (D)
