We recieved the first Attack on our alliance (Tofra), though I doubt it to be a true act of war.

It was already planned, before I joined.. So it's not an attack on the alliance..

it looks like KR has been attacked, but luckily he had no troops to die nor did the attacker get any resources

I'm quiet safe I think. I have a level 10 cranny and a level 3 cranny. 1170 resources - about the amount that I need to continue upgrading my tiles. Should I continue expanding cranny's and if so: to where ?

Luck had very little to do with it.:D

I spent 70% of my resources on a building and the other 30% were easily crannied 2 minutes before the enemy attacked. I saw him comming.

How can you tell if you have an enemy coming?

From the moment an enemy decides to attack you a message will appear on your main page telling you an attack is coming.

Depending on how far away they are you may get several hours notice. Check unit movement, some move at 16 fields an hour, it would take 16 hours for me to attack Krys (if only I could ;)) plenty of time for him to notice and plan how to spend his resources/send his troops out scouting.

[u]Everything</u> can be destroyed except the cranny and mainbuiding lvl 1. But...it takes a LOT of heavy siege weapons to do that.

I think a palace cannot be destroyed completely unless you have more than 4 or 5 villages.

I have joined... I started in: -119, -124. I guess I'm closest to KR.

OK, now I have to actually find out how to play...

just increase your clay, wood, iron, and crop fields (on the first screen) in that order... I think thats the order that DEll gave me

And no need to build buildings till you are on day 6 or so of your 7-day newbie protection time.

I'm currently prioritizing in that order : clay, wood/crop, iron. Clay definitively ahead of the rest. Iron clearly behind (seems it's more needed for troops ;) ). Wood or crop, it depends.

Also I'm now on my 15th day, and so far I only built a warehouse level 1 in my village. Never been attacked. I plan to build a warehouse level 2 and a granary level 1 this weekend, as I'm reaching some limits too often when I'm sleeping.

Food is a bigger priority on the normal servers probably because production increases whilst the number of workers for each building stays the same. Just created a new village on server 3.
