CDZ Cup 9th Edition Discussions Thread

For any remarks, ideas and suggestions regarding the 9th edition of the CDZ Cup, this is the place to do so.

Swiss systems, KO stages, double league rounds... feel free to try and suggest anything new and be prepared to have your ideas flamed and shot down...ehh, I mean to have them discussed in a serious manner. ;)

Last years finalists should have a very highly protected status, allowing them WO's the first 8 matches.

I thought we decided that 4th place autopromotes to winning this thing this season

are slots going to be filled from the order of signup?

I like the rule "Newbies never have to play an away game" :D

Mistfit 03-05-2006 17:58

Actually Tubbs if you play some of the big boys you will not lose money from it as they bring in big crowds

Tubby Rower 03-05-2006 18:01

I was joking... I know that with my luck I'll draw 9 away games to central Europe.

btw, Mistfit are you going to post in the sign up thread?

I am al for big groups single match against every group member. Swiss-system is also OK, but I think that takes some work every week to figure out who has to play who. If we choose this system I volunteer to be "back up figure outer"

If we use groups, is it possible to make groups which are more competative? Last season I only played against teams which plays 4 or more divisions higher then mine.. :-(

That is a very good idea imho. But it all might depend on the actual number of participants and how they can be split into groups.
