Cartouche Bee vs Taurendil
Why do all the threads here mention "OPEN THREAD"? Isn't that the name of the forum?
Anyway: Emporer difficulty featuring Chancellor CB of the Germans, Saint Taurendil of the French, Hammurabi, Catherine, Brennus and Alexander, all of some countries soon forgotten. I forgot the other game specifics, but those will be gladly explained by CB in the following post ;) http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/up... cb turn 1.jpg 21.59KB |

This probably looks like a weird first move but I hate to waste flood plains bu building on them, GOTM14 is a good reference for that, plus building a city on a hill is always nice for defense. :)

I like to move onto hills as well. Should be a big city in the future, pity about those desert sqaures, you never know they may have oil.
|
We seem to have slightly different views on this. I'd personally hate to waste the good production of hills when i can settle on abundant flood plains.
@digger: those 3 desert squares shouldnt be a problem. This is a small pangea map. If city sizes over 12 are ever an issue, we have done something wrong. The same goes for oil. |
In despotism growth is also very important. You are able to whip improvements at a certain size...

Our game ended very prematurely in turn 32, when the Celts decided there wasn't enough room for both of us in the world. And the RNG backed them up. Cartouche was very nice to call the game a draw and we restarted. The game specifics are the same, except for the AI's. This is my spoiler thread, and this is my start:

Well our new map was not too balanced and it shows. I got stuck with 3 AI planted on top of me and T has 2 way far away. T also got a found a settler and is way ahead on expansion but... since I'm the Germans I'm just going to muscle out a fair military position. :D

I looked at the map and indeed, I've made a bit of a mess [blush2] of it.
