Duel of the Month (DOTM): Conquer Monique
It is 2005, the noble tribe of Wink wink nut nut say no more finally settled down from a nomadic life. After learning irrigation and mining (and last weekend fire making) Propain is now set for his next quest. The conquest of the fair maiden Monique and The Ladies protecting her. Can he find her? Can he stop the barbarian CDZ'ers from stealing her away? Is he capable of defending himself against the evil Dionysians & AEGEE'ers? And last, is he able to defeat the foul Lucky and his gang of Pretentious Fouls? We will tell after you've played the January GOTM at Civ3Duelzone.
Your quest: win Monique and all of her heavily influencing and protecting girlfriends for you. Level: Emperor Mapsize: small Barbs: sedentary Due: 31 January. Send your EOT sav completing your quest to beam AT civ3duelzone DOT com. (Tourney style, the EOT sav from the turn before you get the victory message) Bonus: a secret formula will be applied to each winning submission received prior to 15 January and a penalty applied on submissions afterwards based on days. [evil] Awards: ahum, have to discuss that with PP. ;) http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/up...2024_start.jpg 63.73KB Download Attachment: [img]icon_paperclip.gif[/img] Propain of the Winkies, 4000 BC.zip 62.08KB Thanks to Swingue for all input. |
Imagine discovering this thread after working till 3 am......
Now I need to find some time in my schedule to finish this game before the big day..... |
Go PP, go!
|
LOL.
Gonna play this for sure! |
[lol] I will give it shot too.
|
I'll see if I can find some time to play this. Looks like fun! :)
|

|
IIRC PP has to finish before the 15th.
If he can't will he lose Monique ??? Stay tuned people !! |

Also Beam yes ok, my logic is flawed there, I had actually reinstalled Civ3 the day before I saw this. But this is the first game that I've finished since the reinstall and it was a fantastic romp. Oh did I say finished? Conquest victory in 460AD. Slow but enjoyable [coool] Melifluous |
meli, welcome back!
hey, someone slaughter a [sheep][estwing], please! |
Conquest in 440AD - 3h 30min of play. A bit slow on the last phase of tracking down the ladies. No change there.
I was tempted to let them build more cities to see what was coming next - but my ruthless instincts overcame that. Edit:Having read the read about PPs nuptials, I understand this now. Doh. Ironic that only married men seem to have finished the game. |

Hmm, started it but didn't finish yet (and not married) |
Finished! I conquered The Ladies. [mischief]
I like those city names. Especially the ones of the Dualists. [lol] |
This game was great to play.
Twas a shame to crush the AI before they could build more funny named cities [charge] Meli "Dont call me Peachy" fluous |
a great and fun game - but I must admit I stopped when I saw that they'd all crumble before me!

I'd delayed a little because the Master Butcher himself did not submit (yet). Maybe Monique is applying stricter rules now? ;)
|
can someone do a spoiler? perhaps kingreno (gives him something to do while waiting [lol] ) i did not have a chance to play and am curious of all the "easter eggs" that beam put in :)
|
Its quite a short game. I'm sure some one could finish it in under2 h. But some pleasures are meant to be savoured.....
|
2hrs? ok, i'll try it myself tonight :D
|
so who won?
|
So, Beam, is the game closed now or are you still open to submissions (like mine, if I can get around to starting it) while waiting for PP to finish it?
|
I really hope to post the results Saturday, if you submit before that it should be fine.
I have some problems finding all the submissions back because of the PC and ADSL crash I had in January so I consider posting a list of submissions I can track first. |

bumpetibump Scores, results and all that stuff that is so exciting and interesting. Screenshots of cool stuff also wanted. |
For the record, I started to play that one later than most of you, but my HD crash came in... :( Anyway, I'm pretty lame finishing solo games these days...
The beginning was a feast for the wonderful factory IIRC. AIs were rather weak, and I found where Lucky was. I stopped after the expansion phase (as I was preparing for war IIRC, because there was much room left to settle). |
Due to my own HW problems in Jan I don't have a reliable overview anymore of whom has submitted. :( I do recall submissions from KR and Matrix, that's about it.
It's best imo if people resubmit their savs etc. and I'll process them during the weekend, all games submitted before noon Saturday will be accepted. |
