It seems Matrix refers to Argus with a hundred eyes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argus_Panoptes

That's the downside to coastal cities in a game where DM's are allowed.
The Veteran Malinese army will trek back from the fighting in the middle East to view it's devastated homeland. GG & GL |
Given the terrible and horrific actions of the Aztec Ruler Matrix, Rome can not sit by and do nothing in the face of such bloodly aggression.
Therefore the Republic of Rome has no choice but to act swiftly declare war on the Maliese Empire. We can not let the Aztecs think they are more terrible than us! President Robi of the Roman Republic |
@Robi D: Is that a challenge? You're on! The one who spills more Malinese blood wins!
@IanDC: I was actually thinking about waiting until you've played, but technically I did not DMed you: I declared war on the second turn. If I would've DMed you I would've dropped the units on land and then attack you, but then I would've violated the only rule we have in this game. [rolleyes] The only advantage I had now was that you might have spotted me. (The only reason for me to have waited would've been to avoid the pretence of a DM.) @all: To look with Argus' eyes means to look with distrust or to look at something seemingly fishy. (But it comes directly from the dictionary: "iets met argusogen bekijken" = "look at something with Argus' eyes".) It might not have been the best choice of words. |

Speaking of wars, what can I do about the one with Killercane? He's been basically banished from the ME. Is it ok to sign peace with his civ now that it's controlled by the AI?
btw, I sent him a PM, but he didn't respond (probably a bit busy lately :) ). |
IMO you can sign peace. God knows when he'll be back. In the mean time we could try and find a (temporary) substitute.
|
Well, IMO, you better leave it like it is in case he comes back. But really, hard to tell. It seems that giving AI an opportunity to rule even for a short time might be quite devastating. You come back after a few turns and all your hard-grown cottages got transformed into farms or workshops and ll units manage to get killed while you research useless techs and the economy is ruined. At least by maintaining status quo on the diplomatic front, we can ensure that there nothing gets changed. But of course, that would be better decided on individual basis.

Even more reason to find a substitute. Shall I ask some people?
