@Killer, after they replace the motherboard, HD and DVD player, it will be a new pc! At least that 3 year next business day on site garantee paid off.

But I'm looking for a new home pc anyway, that way I can keep my game addiction feeded without my laptop.

The Liquid! Sounds like a great idea.

Got a new harddisk, old one turned out to be fried. The noise it made was tale-telling so things were fixed quickly. Fingers crossed, hoping this will fix matters permanently.

And another afternoon of reinstalling ahead of me.

You really should get a copy of Norton Ghost (or similar) and make an image if your system drive when it is installed. That way next time you need to reinstall it will take 5 mins and not 5 hours...

I talked that over with my IT supplier last week. He would look into that, but who would have guessed the whole thing would collapse in 2 weeks time.

But it's high on my list of priorities now!

Well I can email you Ghost - it is only 600k or so. Very easy to use and it may save you a few hours...
