I use this instead of 'print screen' key because it is much quicker and simpler.

Just run the program, select 'Snapshot/Area Screenshot', select the area you want with the mouse, and save directly to jpg. There are other nice features like saving to clipboard and saving to other formats.

It's freeware, and very small and simple. Perfect for 95% of screenshots you will want to take from CivIII.

I use this too - it works really neatly - and it will save as jpegs which can be uploaded with no graphics programs needed to edit or convert them.

The only downside is that it appears fuck up the pics if I save them as gif's.

One fucked up gif - 3.13*KB

So I just save as jpg's instead.

It's *still* my most useful utility.

BTW, Photoshop does not recognize the program's bmp-format as valid.

Appreciate it. May come in handy if I ever get my own spoiler forum. :-p

I use the good ol' printscreen-key in combination with
IrfanView, so i can (somewhat) control the size of the
files.
IrfanView in general is quite handy to have:

Thanks for the tip, anarres! I'm using this tool at least until I have my system up and running again (and PSP installed). [goodjob]

I found a neat util on CFC:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=83728&page=1

Have been using it for 2 weeks now, it's great!:)

It works in a "shoot&forget" mode, i.e. you hit PrtSc, then your shot (full screen, though) is automatically named and saved into a certain diretory. No fumbling around in the background while civ-ing.[smokin]
