http://m1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/a.jpg
Some nice looking land there! :D
Turn 36, will they attack?
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/uhoh.jpg
isnt it a settler under that spear ?
No its a warrior
Im happy to inform that after I rushed out an archer the Persians got so scared they went hunting barbs instead, might have helped that I went into their territry with a warrior aswell.
My first ring done:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/f1.jpg
We ended our first powerseccion at turn 75.
Here is my empire:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/75.jpg
Still in building mode, with some horses getting made to do some pointystidck research against Japan.
Wow, 10 cities by turn 75 is pretty good!
It surely is for a noob claimant ;)
Turn 86, time for some pointy stick:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/84a.jpg
And disconect the horses ofcourse:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/84b.jpg
And I realy like this picture:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/84c.jpg
Japan will be easy:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/87a.jpg
Maybe I should take the capital too
Good start, he had rushed a settler there:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/87b.jpg
What a familiar taskbar. Sometimes I don't listen music though. Good warmongering skills.
Spoils of war: Satsuma, a town on a hill and Poly:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/90a.jpg
Time for a worldmap me thinks:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/94a.jpg
Turn 94:
Just made a 2fer. Damn that was expensive but now Jack is behind Con, mono and Feu. Hoping the AI continue to research in Midevaltimes since I have 10 turns left on my 40turns Lit.
If Im realy lucky maybe its worth changing my close to capital fp to Great lib, to earn some money that way instead.
What you guys think?

unless ur gonna palace jump (yuk - imho, but a valid tactic) theveste is dam close to carthage for a FP. but maybe you are stuck for other sites to build it production wise, and you will need it pretty soon to avoid 1 spt limit on new cities... so umm... difficult choice. building the FP too late is a mistake I have made a few times and it hurts big time.
Hmm what is my warrior doing there?
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/95a.jpg
Maybe he will start a no phony war with some ma´s? [hammer]

hehe.
Japan didnt want to leave my territory :D Good, I didnt want to wait 15 more turns
Turn 111, japan is no more:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/104a.jpg
No gl tho [sad]
At last Republic at turn 129 (10ad)
Damn slow AI researchers.
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/129a.jpg
The world rankings:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/129b.jpg
Cant realy complain about this, will rush a few librarys tho:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/129c.jpg
And my lands:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/129d.jpg
Feels confident
Earlier I made a mistake hoping for a leader to move my palace with.
I didnt get any in the Japanese war though (not strange only 3 or 4 elite wins). I was building the FP in Theveste which is now changed to Hanging gardens. It will be a late fp for me in Gades. Will probably hurt me abit with late fp (if im not gooing to war before that and get a leader) My closest neighbour the persians has neither horses or iron so it will happen before gunpowder I think.
Gades look like a good fp location?
Jack is trading his Iron away to the Persians:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/iron1.jpg
And no iron left, he has 2 others not connected(probably roading them)
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/iron2.jpg
You think going in and cut the iron to make Jack break a deal is worth war?
DrAlimentado
18-08-2003, 02:11
it's the kind of tactic I thouroughly approve of... if its his only one and he's trading it (strange?) then yes, if it's his second then I'm not totally sure it'll break his deal, it might just deny it to him until he re-roads it (not long). war at that distance is nothing to fear i reckon (unless he can dogpile you... etc etc.)
Bah, Cant:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/iron3.jpg
I like my lux:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/lux1.jpg
And Since I cant make the life worse for Jack at the moment im thinking of making it better for myself, I think this will be my next target:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/lux2.jpg
6 Luxuries will be good [crazyeye]
WildFire

Go for the lux!
Impressive game Puwen !
Well done.
ps : I like Sabratha better than Gades for FP though, all those jungle sites are going to take ages to come online...I believe this game go be over before Tanks so in that respect an earlier FP which helps an already improved second core is better than a late FP which comes onlne with loads of unimproved lands....
Well Gades is already in full FP mode(Size 12 with market, granery and courthouse and 12 good workable land tiles. I have lots lots of workers, almoast all jungle is already cleared (look at turn 75 screen for all those workers beeing made, never had to make a worker factory))
Other update: Romans attacked me out of the blue and took out my little scouting force at Jacks border.
I also declared war on the Koreans and will soon have my 6:th lux conected. When Ill get home from work I´ll put up a pic of my terraormed land.
The marketplace was unnecessary IMO better to build temple->courthouse->FP and merge workers into it instead of building a granny
...but you probably cash rushed the MP no ?
I would glady have jumped over the Marketpalce, but the unhappyness was to big, Purchasing in a lux from Persia and lux on 10% is enough for size 12. I wont need the lux from Persia after I have conected Inchón to the roadnetwork. The deal should be over when im ready to attack.
Putting up a pic on my FP build on Request:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/fp2.jpg
9 spt at size 11 isnt that bad.
Again [thumbsup]
Mine one of the desert that might get you to 10 spt, you dont need the 1 bonus food ;)
At Turn 177 now, Im at war with the Persians, Jack is at war with Germans, Rome and China. Im not making much progress yet since it look like this every turn, and new troops getting there every turn, Good place to hunt for leaders but no luck yet:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/170a.jpg
Im not to worried tho and will take it easy becuae I lost to a Immortal (X-man in ga) and X-man is building this:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/177a.jpg
I got a nice 3fer too, Banking, gunpowder and astronomy for about 200gpt. Might have been abit expensive since Jack was able to break my horse and iron deal to German. Strange since it opened up the next turn again (im giving German Salpeter now to make progress harder for Jackn but Bismark didnt even want to pay 1 gold for it).
More pictures from turn 177:
Worldmap
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/wm1.JPG
And an idea of cutting roads if Jack continues to sell Iron to X-man to make him lose reputation aswell:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/177b.jpg
Turn204: Have taken Persepolis, but lost quite alot of troops, so I made peace. My new Plan:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/sea1.jpg
Its only 9 cavalry going since I had to make the force fast before railroads (easy defence for Jack).
Attack plan:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/sea2.jpg
So Why do I want to raze Reims also, why not just the capital?
Here is the answer:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/reims.jpg
I havent checked out defence yet in the towns, but I will when I get closer. Wish me luck :D
Main front, tis is where I hope jack has his most troops, and my way there (I have rop with persia):
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/2front.jpg
And I will ofcourse try to ally with the ai, hope they will march in making trouble for jack:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/2front2.jpg
Well Hope I get there before rails or this is 0% chance succeed
Worldmap for easy reference:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/wm10.jpg
The turn after the pics: X-man declared war on Jack, thats good, I love it, I can get Nationalism cheaper and jack will move his forces left earlier [goodjob]
Nice plans, hope for you the AI will keep Jack busy :D
The idea of cutting Persian roads is nice however the chance that Persia and France have at least one harbour is just too big, road-cutting would not result is loss of trade route. I understand this is not an option anymore but just FYI.
If I were you I would land my invasion force next to Tours on that Mountain ! It will be 2 times harder to kill your cavs when they land, in open ground I doubt they could survive... Also it makes Rheims closer.
Looks like a good plan ! Good luck ;)
Good point there, Ill investigate both cities, se which is most vulnerable to the attack. About the cutting of roads, It did work since it was around the capital i cut them.
Ok sorry I thought Perse was on the coast but it's a lake... [blush]
War is on, Preperations, first investigate the 3 cities:
Paris
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/paris.jpg
Tours
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/tours.jpg
Rheims
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/rheims.jpg
And with this info I landed here, since he can probably only get attackers to defend Rheims:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/rheims2.jpg
And made some alliances:
http://w1.250.telia.com/~u25006753/JM1.jpg
DrAlimentado

why didnt you land your troops on the mountain next to Tours?
and beware the river at Rheims...
I was not sure I would reach Rheims in one turn then. (i'll raze all cities)
Well Jack gave upp.
Jack Merchant säger:
I am afraid I'm going to have to concede vs puwen
Was a fun game, and I learned much about PBEM in this my first one.
I feel abit cheeated about the victory though since Germany made it hard for him in the begining and Japan was easy to roll over for me.
congrats!
...and yup, this was an easy one for you, Jack was unlucky!
