General rules of engagement (approved by Erikk)

Rule 1: ‘No Exploits’ as per what people around here mean by that

Rule 2: No dogpiling. We are allowed to make one MA per turn so that the other does not wake up with the entire world against him.

Rule 3: Respect initial MAs and MPPs. If you MA w. someone for 20 turns and they break it, one is not allowed to make another MA until the first one would have finished. Same goes for MPPs.

Rule 3.1: No phony MAs. One must take part at the war against another human before making the alliance and not just turn the AIs against him.

Rule 4: Always respect deals with the other human.

Rule 5: No settler creep (if it ever gets to that).

All rules are valid ‘till the game ends. We might agree to other rules that will be included here. We might agree to treaties that have a limited duration and will not be included here.

Rule 1, 2, 4 and 5 I agree

rule 3:
So we allow MPP's and MA's. Keeping up the start end enddates of an MA will be difficult to maintain if it are a lot IMO. But I am ok with your proposition.

All I wanna add is 'no phoney MA' which means that you are not allowed to ally an AI agianst the human unless you attack him yourself (with units). Which basicly bans games like propain vs anarres and kemal vs anarres.

And what do you two mean with exploits? We have a lot of them but not all of us agree upon what is what. Is the Palace Jump an exploit? Ring City Placement? Suicide Galleys?

ERIKK

Those are ruled no exploits IMO.

I'm sorry for this threadjack. :( But what list do you mean then. That of the GOTM?

ERIKK

No I was thinking about our discussion over here which basicly covers the GOTM list too. There wasnt really a conclusion AFAIK but I sensed that almost everything is allowed.

I read that and that was what I meant.

On rule 3. Keeping track of MPPs and MAs is usually doable by both parties and not so tedious. I agree no phony treaties even if a lone warrior will usually be used as a real threat (see other PBEMs).

Will change the post above.

- So a lone warrior is not a real attack, not heavy enough to get a MA, right?
- And (under #2) only one MA per turn (This is a new rule, I hevent seen it before on this board
but I like it already :))

- Also (just to be clear :)) this all counts for against the other human, right? Against the AI we are allowed to set up some AI's in one turn?

(I dont realy care what you chose but just want to have it stated over here.)

turn 165

I just had my troops smashed by Yndy's cavs (as expected). Now
nothing can stop him reaching Domination.

Even an counterattack is out of the question:

Also trouble in the southwest:

Domination is a matter of time:

I decided to give up, seems more than reasonable!

Thanks and congrats Yndy!
