Turn 23:

So far I met the Arabs and the English. Seems there is plenty of
land to cover but the lands are not very good: plains and desert.
On a distance there are jungles and grasslands.

Stapel has the zulus nearby. No further info yet.

I will post a pic later today!

Turn 25:

Look at those lands! I have plenty of them but I will not grow fast
enough to claim the best pieces of it! So far it looks like the
English and Arabsa havent met anybody yet too!

Well that's sort of a crappy start, ain't it now?

Crappy? [eek]

Entermont has a river, a game and a whale in the borders. Alesia can really grow and will be a good worker factory (also settler?)!

I say this not as the mapmaker. I really think it's quite alright considering the fact that they have two settlers at the start.

Indeed I have seen crappier...

ERIKK

It is not crappy and I know Stapel has the same so it doesnt matter that much. If the Arabs
are below the jungles I must be able to expand quite far! I hope the English stay away for a
while though! [evil]

turn 53:

i have the WM, we both had the ai grow towards us but stapel had 3
ai's doing it and I 1. He has more bonus resources in his territory.
We both have difficult lands, here he has an advantage again because
he is industrious. We are equal in tech again (I was ahead all the
time). IIRC he has no iron nearby and maybe no horsies too, but I am
not sure...

Turn 107:

I just declared war on the English and bought the Spanish in. The
Zulus and Stapel (Egypt) were already finishing off the Iroquois.
Now, the Spanish got in the Zulus against the English resulting in
France declaring war on the Spanish (not good for us). So, we have a
ww now with only the Arabs not joining the party...

If the Spanish fail in harassing the English enough then I will have
a though time as I already have had some big losses on my tiny army
of horsies and Gallic swords...

The latest raid has ended. Stapel informed me that he had killed all my (6) knights and
recaptured his cannons at the kost of 4 knights.

So the end balance:
- I lost 7 knights total
- He lost 8 knights and 1 knight army total

A good balance for me and next to that Stapel told me he lost a lot of units against the Zulus
in the turn before my attack. I followed the Zulu knights (I saw them moving through Arab
lands) to attack Stapels wounded units... (which was a good plan) He was forced (?!) to sign
peace with them he told me. But he said he had 5 cavalry now. I still need 3 or 4 turns to
MilTrad. Also I only have a few knights left. I hope he wont do the same to me as I did to him
coz I will be in trouble against a load of cavs I fear. Him signing peace with the Zulus is a
bad sign IMO...

turn 186:

Stapel landed his troops on my soil and some really crazy things
happened. First of all I noticed that the French would cut off one
road to my town if I dirigate them. Second I noticed that the
Spanish cav cut off my supply road to my other town in danger!!!!
It has 6 cavs and 4 rifles in it. Stapel landed 12 cavs, 3 muskets a
cannon and a settler. I really hope he attacks the town and wastes
his cavs but I need some good dices in that case... Then in the next
turn I will have enough cavs to finish off the rest of his troops!

But I sure need luck here... [yeah]

Apart from his troops annoying you, his territory looks much bigger. How are the f11 stats?

ERIKK
01-12-2003, 10:29
He is bigger but he has tons of max size 6 cities (tight build). I am more happy and more
productive but he rules on all other stats. He is big bcoz he is fighting the ai's all the
time. I have a bunch of Universities now and have been catching up quite some techs.

I think we are equal now in tech!!! (With me lacking some unimportant MA techs.) We are also
equal in military strenght. (But that was after I upgraded 25 muskets to rifles.) I might
have little shot in even winning this game! 30 turns ago I was sure that I had lost the game.

Stapel did not make a move yet. He can't wait so he has to choose between attacking to French
to reach my city or attack the other city which has a lot of units in it. If he waits a bunch
of new French units will stand in the way (this time some rifles!) the next turn ([lol]).
Also I will be able to draw more troops to his stack and the endangered cities.

Of course I hope he attacks the French. It will cost me some units and a city but Stapel
will have to defend his entire nothern region in that case, even if he manages to set up the
Spanish against the French. Stapel is also still at war with the Arabs. If he signs peace with
them he will suffer a severe rep hit. Stapel is still losing units to Arab kamikaze cavs
each turn. My scout spears in Arab lands have a nice overview of the front! ;)

Bad news!

I just heard from Stapel that he was able to move his cavs over the
hill into my city... :( He himself did not knew this was possible
(like me) but with a bit of luck he found it out. I knew cavs could
move 2 steps in jungle but I thought the were not able to move through
hills in enemy territory.

So this game is now influenced by my misjudgement/stupidity!!! [cry]

I hope I can still finish off his cavs but this sucks big time of course...
