turn 20: met the Chinese
turn 22: korean settler combo comes close to MY settle-site
turn 24: beat the koreans to the site because a barb and a
chinese archer were in the way! I have China to the east and
korea to the southeast.

Turn 32: [eek] For iron working and 3gpt I got in multiple trade
rounds:
- The remaining contacts: Babylon and Greece,
- The Wheel, Alphabet, Cer Bur, Marsony, Mysticism, Pottery,
Writing
- a worker and 56 gold lump sum

Got all contacts and am on par with the Ai's and am able to
buy two embassies. I am also 3 techs ahead of Jack now. :)

Turn 51:

Some turns ago I managed to trade the WM and a worker for 2 gpt. In
the AI turn 5 of the 6 AI got map making and the also swapped
territory and world maps. Fortunally the were gaps which I could use
to get myself the WM. I manged to get a worker and some gold too which
I used to get an emabssy with the Ottomans. I will post the map later
today. Seems I am in a good position to take over 2 AI's and then
consolidate my position!

Got one settler on that hill and am building one more settler, the
last one. He is gonna settle on the other red circle. From now on
I will only build spears and horses. I have no iron nearby, not even
closeby. I plan to draw in the Chinese against the Koreans. After that
, if possible, I will take over the Chinese. From that point on I will
be able to secure the nothern part of the map (I hope)...

turns 70-85: I am preparing for an attack. Meanwhile the ai's are
fighting and, most probably lots of Chinese units must have entered
Korean territory by now... Jack is starting to grow bigger now. The
Japs are a joke, they have been at war the entire game!

Map 87: Get construction from the Ottomans for 1gpt + allience vs.
the Koreans. Get Monotheism as tech for MA. Pay Chinese Monotheism +
dyes for an alliance and get 6g + iron too! Trade Monotheism for
money + Feudalism and Engineering with some AI's. Sell Feudalism
cheap to the Japanese. Take two cities and get an extra lux. Lose
1 horse, killed 4 Korean spears and an archer. Capture 2 workers.
Upgrade some warriors too.

You should have taken out Pyong before putting any troops in Ulsan...

turn 134:
After a long war which started as the Korean incident (in turn 87)
we are now facing the destruction of the mighty Chinese who were 10
turns ago the most powerfull civ. They profited a lot from the flip
which threw lots of sand in the mighty German war-machine... After
a recovery and revolting (and upgrading) period of 15 turns, we
blitzed into Chinese territory and allied with the Ottomans who
provided a second (southern) front.

We captured another wonder. This time the wonder was not good enough
to keep in the German Heimat...

After tons of elite wins I am realy starting to become very angry of
not getting a leader... This turn 5 wins but nothing. Still I captured
4 extra workers who joined the populeous slave workforce...

All these new lands realy ask for 2 leaders for relocating the
palace to a bit south of Berlin and one in the middle of the Chinese
homelands!

I did a daring thing again! Sanghai has the Sixtine Chapel. The
next turn I will have 6 knights ready to take Xijian. Lets hope
I will be able to keep the town this turn...

BTW: Bonn (under the minimpa) has the FP, two turns ago I finally
got a leader [coool]

turn 145:

In turn 144 I signed peace for their 3 techs. The only saltpeter
source in my part of the world is exactly within the borders of that
little Ottoman town in the Southwest... That sucks big time of course
but the Ottomans are polite (after I gave in on a threath). I hurried
temples in the surrounding cities hoping that it will flip some time
but I am counting on a short war in the near future. The Babs have 2
sources of saltpeter but wont trade with me.

I have 39 slave workers atm [evil]

turn 172:

took the last chinese before the ottomans could snatch it before me
some turns ago. Jack is literally destroying Babylonians and after
he will probably take out the Carthaginians. By that time either
he or me will use the Ottomans aas allies against the other. If not,
if he stops after the Babylonians I will be fine too, My culture is
growing rapidly and my empire is big enough for 4-turns techs.

But the lack of sltpeter sucks of course... I have troops ready to
take at any time. I can also buy it from the Ottomans but they want
100gpt for it..

I attacked Jack after he invaded Carthago who have very important wonders. The idea was to
quickly stop and/or harrass his attack and get out of AI territory before he can set up the AI
against me with my troops still at his borders!

He is building arties but cannot attack until tanks, I can now monitor the # of new units each
turn and decide to mobilize or not... I am building cathedrals and coal plants atm, after that
only infs and arties...

Last turn he gained 2 infs but lost to hoplites, so my guess is he did an upgrade of those two.
If he gets no extra units the next turn then he obviously isnt building military untis and most
probably isnt in mobilization too. I OTOH am building arties and infs in 2 turns in 4 cities and
will have more and more cities on military units the next turns.

I am getting +475 gpt from the AI's and have fewer workers and military. I dont think Jack can
squeeze much more gold out of the AI's. Also he just has had a war with them...

I am ruling on Pop, GNP, Prod and Manu-Goods for quite a while now and am 1 important tech
(steel) ahead of Jack but he has Atomic Theory and Electronics over me (+ Sanitation and
communism).

So overall I have much more money to spent for research. I might be able to catch up before
tanks appear. If I am lucky some AI researches something for me but I am not counting on it.

Jack gained 1 att and 3 infs this turn so I mobilized.... In the
meantime I will let the rest of my cities finish their improvements.
I learned something today: the extra shields only count for military
improvements and units, it says in the civilopedia. Also nothing is
said about the loss of culture during mobilization (or am I not
looking good enough?)...

I assume that you are joking about the fact that you didn't know that it only counts for military improvements? Anyway, what version do you have? With 1.27 mobilisation is broken and you get improved production for ALL things you build. However, when you both agree that's ok... But when you have 1.21 and jack plays with 1.27, then I'd say that mobilisation is a nono. Because Jack would be exploiting when mobilising while he has to be able to mobilise when you do that.

Also culture build up is halved during mobilisation (I assume you know that as well?).

EDIT: The civilopedia is worthless!!

Nope not joking, I thought all prod was doubled and that it was fixed with 1.27 but that some
other thing had a bug now. But now that you are telling me this (muchos thanks btw!) I remember
me and Jack talking about this and we concluded that we were both on 1.21 and there would be no
troubles on the horizon. Talking on MSN and playing civ at the same time sometimes makes me
forgetting or misinterpreting things.. :( The culture thing I did know yes, but I was searching
for it in the civilopedia but did not found it with 'mobilization' and 'culture'.

I dont know what jack is doing but he needs Steel for Mass Production. I have the tech for 6
turns now and if he was researching he should have gotten it by now. My guess is that he is
saving money to steel from the ai. But I stopped selling to the ai's as they were broke all the
time (they arent anymore but I wont sell Steel). Next turn I have Atomic Theory and will sell it
around as Jack already has it, getting me all the ai money again... I will go for Electronics
after that (Jack has that one too).

I think Jack is making amistake here, he should have hurried to get tanks 5 to 10 turns before
me and attack...

After the shock of having those damn Greeks running over the nothern
Bab cities the Germans decided to throw in their panzers. This time the
unreliable Ottomans were the target. In 6 turns they whiped out the
Ottomans due to the sheer (panzer) production capacity in mobilization
and Golden Age!

We gained two more luxuries and a lot of wonders (among them the much
needed Bachs Chapel). With these happiness assets and signing peace
with Osman, all Germans are very happy again! [groucho]

Word is that the next target will be the litte lightgreen men on
horses attacking some Carthaginian city will meet our panzers soon. [mwaha]

One opportunistic German infantry platoon decided to the visit the
lightgreen horde already...

(I forgot to remove them from there [wallbash] )

Turn 274 game stats:

Strenght:
I was weak at the beginning of the turn and in the end we were equal.

Techs:
He has computers, I have computers and miniturialization. I am
researching Rocketry at 14 turns (running +1000 gold p/t).

Wonders:
In 5 turns I will finish The Internet and Seti. Right now he captured
some important wonders but the next turn I will probably take Cathage
(which is isolated from the rest of Greece) with a bombing raid of
160 arties and an attack with 65 Panzers and 15 mechs.

Wealth:
I must be much richer as I still am in GA and have Stock Exchanges
and lots of Commercial docks in my cities. These I built in GA while
Jack was building his new tanks.

Research:
+/- 25 cities have research centers, jack has none

Units and the end of my turn:
I have 100 infs, 13 mechs, 39 Panzers, 1 mech army and 200 arties
He has 52 infs, 12 mechs, 41 tanks, 50 arties and 2 armies (one cav
and I assume one inf)

Under F11 Germany is #1 at all stats (we are still in GA). Next turn
I will complete +/- 25 Panzers and +/- 7 mechs. I dont think Jack can
produce the same. So it is looking good for Germany. :)

Game is finished.

Jack had two cities stuffed with units. First I isolated one and turn after it I crushed its 12
mech + extra's with a hugh bombardmend and Panzers. In the same turn I destroyed all
improvemnets near the other city, disconnecting it from the rest of empire. His units are stuck
now awaiting a bombardment of 200 arties and an assault of 60-70 Panzers.

Jack decided to quit as the rest of his empire was in reach of the 3-move Panzers now...

It suddenly went quit fast as I was gearing up for a Space Race victory but with the late GA I
was able to mass an army superfast! :)
