Thanks. One more and I get the first of the never-ending Paradox dlc diarrhea. From what I gather from the dev diaries EU4 is shaping up quite nicely.
I signed also. Emails go to spam but I hope your game play description is as entertaining as you crusader campaigns.
mmmm, Shabba beat me to this. Should you have some other emails addies you dont mind getting spam on feel free to sign up for me as well :)

So I read EU4 will have pitboss... at launch. I doubt I'll ever buy a Firaxis game ever again.

Before saying that, I would suggest Xcom Enemy Unknown. It is great!

What is the status with CDZ e-mail? We could create every single spam account we need if it worked!

The CK2 old gods DLC release trailer was awesome, the EU4 pre-order trailer is rather dull...

I'm bothering you with it because it takes a nice stab at civ5: "Bring civilization out of darkness" :D
Looks ... uninspiring. Sorry, I know some people like the games. But your Venice story is ... discouraging. Not that I need more encouragement anyway.

On the bright side: getting a CB (reason to declare war) in EU is a lot easier than in CK2 (even without strange and hidden parameters in the republic DLC), mainly because that's not exactly what CK2 is about. Where CK2 is more about people management, EU is (what Paradox calls) grand strategy. And what normal people call 4X. I think you got that from my France walkthrough :) I don't put that much effort in my people management in CK2, I rather have armies to smash and burn with (but then they do have to fit on a boat).
But you're right, this is the lamest trailer I've seen in a while. It doesn't even have beards.
The trailer is a huge letdown after the great CKII old gods trailer. Still gonna buy EU IV though, might even preorder.
I got more than my money's worth from EU III and I'm really looking forward to a new TBS/4X fix. The Civ V gap needs to be filled you know :)

If you preorder EU4, you get a free copy of CK2 to give to fellow CDZ members!
I saw that. Will be preordering anyway. :p
Preordering complete. Counting the days :)

There's a free demo available. In other news, I'll make a new subforum for EU.
Subforum sounds fine to me :)

Yes, but better hurry up, because the game is released tomorrow. You get two DLC's for free if you get 5 signups. That's about 2 euros when they are in the winter sale at -75% discount.
In other linux-related news: EU4 will have crossplatform multiplayer!

Ultra
Just one question: what edition and extensions do you recommend me to buy on Steam?

Just buy the cheapest version you can find anywhere: you'll receive a key to activate the game on Steam. The DLC will be on a 75% discount eventually anyway, and you really don't need that at the start.
Easily coasting thru the tutorials atm. It runs pretty well on my Ubuntu box. :)
Nice! Would love to read about your first games (hint) :)

That can be done, I've already read an AAR about it.

I have played versions of Battlefield that were more stable than the current version of EU4.
Started a new game yesterday and had a crash too. Can't remember I had a lot of crashes in the early days though. Also CK II is really stable for me and that runs on the same engine. Weird Paradox guys.

Not in the early days, but when they changed the trade system (in Wealth of Nations I think) I couldn't open a trade node without a 50% chance of CTD.
Rik Meleet

Absolutely no CTD for me.
Shabbaman
04-07-2015, 13:26
Loading a game: CTD
Alt+tabbing: CTD
Selecting units: CTD
Clicking a province: CTD
Problems in other games: none.
Problems in EU pre-CS: none.
Well, not counting those few weeks when WoN kept me from opening tradenodes.

It seems it was random new world which was causing the crashes. The only solution for that is to play without random new world. Oh well. I only managed to get half of Morocco, vassalize Fez and get 5 colonies in that random new world plus Cape Good Hope without other colonizers in sight, so why would I want to continue that game anyway? It was basically won.

Well, once the game progresses the crashes return. It's manageable though, but annoying.
