Guess, I also happen to know a guy who played in all these cups all these years! His first nick letter is S and the last one is N. That guy is unbelievable. I'd put him over the guy who played a Civ2 game for 10 years just because he won.

I ended up putting my name in a flag lottery for Kenya on week 9 and ended up winning. I wasn't sure on the date when this would start. What is the punishment for missing the first week?

Yes barbu. I just found out this morning what I have done. The GMC cup also screwed up my flag lottery winnings. They mentioned a tournament and I presumed that they meant the tournament inside HT, not a tournament with friendlies. This used to be simple. I am sorry I'm a dufus.

Same here. I authorized that cup thing two days ago. I de-authorized the previous cup (which apparently hasn't finished yet), and re-authorized, maybe that'll do the trick :/

- TAFKABCA may come down to goal diff. The winner of the BCLG United : de burchtheren match will not win the award. In case of a tie, if I loose, I get the award. If I win, BC gets it.

It all comes down on how mutch I win/loose against Shaba.
At halftime, its 1-1.
If I keep it a 2 goal game, I'm clear. If Shaba wins by 3 or more I end up last.
So I did win the tankataa!
What does tankataa mean? 'The award now known as the arne award'?
Despite somewhat inadequate gameplay (losing 8:2), Chemists somehow managed to hold mostly due to the fact that Shabba also lost although not in a such embarrassing manner.

I have to admit that I CBA to play hattrick anymore. I have put zero effort in my current season, and I will finish third. I even made a profit this season while selling only 1 2nd team trainee. Considering that my 1st team trainees aren't even worth that much (oh hello unstable economy!), I don't expect to make a lot of progress. I still have 15M in the bank though, so I should be able to keep this up for a long time. Why bother? The only goal I have in this game is to get to that 10 year mark, but since I doubt I'll get a trophy for it I'm not even sure I should try. Sure, playing the CDZ cup is nice, but when I'm not even thinking of entering lineups and w/e, should I keep on trying? I'm not so sure.
I go through phases of being interested. Right now i'm not very but i feel i may as well keep it going because in a few months i'm likely to be interested again.

Well, I really can't be arsed to spend time buying players. In a few seasons most of my main players will be too old to compete. With the team I have now I can (apparently) compete at this level without any effort at all. I would be motivated to try to achieve something (something like winning this league), if I could make a plan to achieve that (something like: buying players). The thing is, every plan I would make involves training something for two or three seasons and selling those players, but in the mean time the economy will crash. Or the economy will boom, at which time I will have bought a trainee that will be worth half I bought him for by the time I want to sell him. I fail to see what makes this game fun.

I must admit that I don't know whether I'd still be playing HT if I didn't have met people, who play HT,in RL.
We have a monthly meeting here (although often we talk only little about HT), I have met people at nationwide meetings and I like to chat with some in federations.
And a few seasons, I even was playing with one of the regular members of our monthly meeting in our city in the same league.
I am not managing my team to max success in the last few months. I am training too many non-optimal trainees from my own youth squad, but that improved my fun (loyalty helps in making my strategy less non-optimal)
But I still think the game is fun, although it was more fun a few years ago. But that is more about me than about the game.
If you want to keep your team alive, buying doesn't take too much time.
Buy some 29-32 year ols with about world class skill. Doesn't take too much time searching, you don't risk investing too much as they cost little and thanks to wage discount they are much bang for the buck, so you still are quite competitive.
Or buy 16 not too young midfielders with low passing and train them in passing. Doesn't take too much time, they are cheap, and via defensive forwards you will still not get trashed I guess. And maybe fun comes back with some new feature and you have some nice amount of money then.
Keeping the team alive doesn't take too much time especially with friendly pool etc.
Maybe you are interested in having a national player of some country? If you are thinking about closing the team, then this might be the right time. Burns your money, but you might be able to say you have achieved something.
