Did anyone hear about that game that has been going on for 10 years? I'm led to believe Matrix was playing it and the delay was caused because Shabba is stupid. I could be wrong.

You could start with the Civ2 subforum. There hasn't been any activity in there for years.
I hear it's going through a retro phase and suddenly becoming cool again.
At some point, there was an option to change your own title or whatever. But then it disappeared. I'm sure the real boss (PP or Shabba) can do this at will with a few clicks.

That option is still in the user control panel. I don't know if it works, but I haven't received any complaints that it doesn't. When we migrated to vB the user titles have been reset (I guess), and I have reset them manually again when I removed the title "moderator" from members who only had modrights of their own pbem subforum. So if anyone wants to set their own title to "complete retard", be my guest. If that doesn't work, let me know, I might even be kind enough to create a usergroup especially for those special people :D

I'm traveling to Russia. Been visiting with my parents in Orenburg. They've not heard of no ice cubes there, man, and of no youtube or whatever. No AC either, just some warm vodka. They don't have no diet coke either, it is quite a wild place still. It was tough but I survived. Back to Moscow now and here it is quite OK, around 20-25C (65-80F).

This is what you missed. I'm basically at the lower right corner of the "10PM EDT" box. Luckily, no yellow or red near me, but it was nasty enough up here. Lots of DC suburbs lost power due to downed trees knocking out power lines. They just started getting power back last night, after a full day of 108F (42C) heat.

Uh, I guess I just lucked out. But the area of DC where I live is quite resilient. Most of the houses were built about 100 years ago, so whatever could be cut or gone down already did so a few times and was fixed. There was no power loss during last year's earthquake and tropical storm and the hub which feeds Glover Park comes up from the same Georgetown harbor connection that feeds the White House. After all, the area is just 3 miles to the NW. There was a short blackout for half a day in April last year due to flooding of the harbor however. Some jerk forgot to open the gates and cut off the Obama's power.

That thing hit us pretty hard. Luckily my house was in a pocket of about 50 houses that only had the power flicker. Some people didn't get power back for 7 days. We also had 100°F temperatures. We had 2 other families staying with us and 4 others that came over during the day.
Tubby due to the weather problems you will have probably missed it but there's a guy on reddit playing a civ2 game for over 10 years. Word on the street is because shabba is stoopid.
