I decided to move a bit and found:

from there, it was easy where to go: a dense build for the first two, then a ring around them for minimum corruption. by that time I should have IW and Wheel and can then settle for startegic res ;)

the land to the north is green, fertile and has a river - just a bit too far for the first ring.... - ouch!

anarres says he'd put the cities closer in. I thought about that, too, and decided that closer might give too little growth in the middle run...... I will wait a bit - granaires in both, thne decide.

my capital now has a Granary, the worker is chopping wood to speed the other. I will order a worker and a warrior in Dehli now.

met the Russians - bought BW (barbs!). Dispersed a barb camp :)

I will go to the tile north of the cows on the river and coast and share the two cows. maybe I will now learn to mm.

Lt. Killer M

FUCK! the dumb tile is NOT on the river......

I will still use it, a productive (mine the cows) coastal city is OK, then it will be Galley time......

It also seems that I have a narrow area for my core, thus I will build densly. Probably rush out, see if I can close an istmus or two, then fill the gaps. Grab both the silks and the ivory quickly and let the center towns grow... again, mine the cows....... then pull a quick war...

or, if I am alone, irrigate the cows and have nice settler factories

Killer, I feel better now :) That's standard in CIV3. I thought you meant the tile sw of Delhi.

It is pretty obvious that I created a rvier and some cattle there to balance the starting positions, huh ?

well, after making contact and getting a good amount of tech in dealing I thought I was fine....

but then, Erik sold me the WM...... figuring RCP into this... not good

Eirks empire can easily grow and prosper, and he has room ot the south for a tight, 7 city FP core as he built his original core wide..... good lands for it, too.

my lands:

I do not really see how I can be expected to be somewhat comparable in strength when our UUs arrive.... note the arrow pointing to the mountain isthmus that the Ottos can easily block.

Killer, how do you mean RCP? Obviously ERIKK didn't go for that ??

Lt. Killer M
06-09-2003, 21:00
aggie, no, but now that we know it is there it would by idiotic for him not to build his FP core tight and profit from it, even if he never planned to build the Palace core wide to profit from the bug!

Aggie

I'd say that ERIKK is about the last to consider this exploit.

ERIKK
07-09-2003, 02:30
I think what he means is that I was able to build good cities somewhat around my capital and
that I had a chance to have a good FP location in the near future (after a war against the
Chinese) while he had not. Also Killer has hills and toundra near his capital which makes his
progress more difficult than mine.

FWIW I dont do RCP, I hardly know how it works.

We agreed to start a new game and ban restarts... ;)

Lt. Killer M

Aggie, I am sure Erik wouldn't consider the exploit, but it would rather happen naturally...... as wide as his Palace core is (1 city at 4) and given that the lands further south are a bit narrower he will end up with several cities around an FP city that are at 4.5 or less distance value....
