anyone have any interesting ideas for a logo for the site?

I can start to work on stuff if I get an idea what you all are looking for.

Ideas... ideas... hm... should be something with a civ unit. A knight. A knight of the round table. You know, they fight when they are able ;) And they duel, too!

Smalltalk's logo is pretty awesome, unfortunately it has little to do with civ.

I think it should be my avatar. With the words "Mauer's Civ duel zone and his wonderful minions." Not exactly, but something to that affect.

Nice one Mistfit. Very american ;) I think I'd like the logo to "blend in" with the rest of the top window, if you get what I mean. Perhaps if the marble blends to white, or with the banner/marble over the whole top of the page? BTW, there should be blood on the tip of the sword.

I'm already used to the new logo, couldn't live without it. It seems as if the new site will have place for a banner over the whole width of the page. The yellow letters stand out too much for my taste.

I think the forum pages adjust themselves to the width of your own screen. On my laptop the screen just fills out the 1680 pixels.

I do think the white border on the left ha s fixed width however. Could you add a little grey/lightblue to the left of the pic to have it line out with the forum borders?

well, no expert in the VB control panel yet cause the damn thing has a truckload of options. So: can I center it? I can't, but that doesnt mean it isnt possible. :)

Happy with the banner, not with the placement. The banner placement should be made relative to to page (aka centered), something like that. I'll have to figure that out first.

For me, it's left bound...but it is looking really nice and fitting good with the theme!

It is left bound, two pixels too short and the yellow letters aren't yellow enough. They blur in their borders and are a little hard to read; this (http://www.civduelzone.com/forum/showpost.php?p=118387&postcount=6) was much better.

And the whole site, banner included, is kinda icy and cold with all the white/blue colours.

But see that as a suggestion for improvement. The banner still is piece of art! ;)

With my configuration (1024*768, Firefox 3, maximized window), the banner is only 1 pixel short, and left bound. Didn't notice until Matrix gave the hint. I agree the banner should accomodate every configuration from mine upwards (I hope no one is under 1024*768). It was not bad before, when the right side of the banner faded out in the background.

I also agree the bright yellow letters were better too.
