You're being deported? Couldn't you still take part in the cup? I assume there's some rudimentary form of teh internets in Austria...
If anyone has a proper spreadsheet of some kind I could do the dirty work. Probably about time after 15 seasons...
yeah, I am being deported by train. I expect they have internet, but I just want to login once or arrange a sitter. And I plan to be in the Dutch cup when you guys start the real cup.
I play on one condition if one of you guys "sit" my team.

I'll leave for Italia in 7 days, so I am in, but alas no room for dirty work.

For how long?
arrange the freindly on the 12th and the 19th of august. And if I am out of the cup before the 5th arrange my freindly for the 5th.
I will pu in a standart line up and a standart amount of doctors, So you do not have to worry about that crap.
I'll join. Happily still in the cup although probably not for much longer.
I'll join happily but no dirty work for me please.
I'm in..maybe I can win a few games here since i cant win any in my new league

I'm in too.. I could maybe do the dirty work, but I'll be leaving for work the last half of October and since I'm still unsure where I'll be (Arkansas or California) my internet access is still in question. (I think that they still have out-houses in Arkansas.) Anyhoo, I'll see what I can do.

Nice, now we're only missing two participants from previous season and we've got a new participant. Does anyone know somebody else that wants to participate? Former participants are more than welcome obviously!
When do we want to start? After league match 7 is still a possibility, but that's next week already.
Hello,
I love to join the friendly leaque.
Regards, HM70 (VCN).

You mean the main team friendly competition (CDZ Cup)?
Or the CDZ legaue for youth academies?
Or both?
BTW, welcome to CDZ!
I mean the friendly CDZ Cup.
Regards, HM70.
Hi VCN, former league opponent!
Welcome to CDZ and welcome to the CDZ 'friendly' league.

Starting after week 8 is fine with me, and so is 13 teams. I'm away from saturday through wednesday, so I can't organize the cup this week anyway. So in the mean while, could you fight about the form of this year's schedule?

barbu is on vacation until tomorrow. SO I guess he might take spot 14.
Starting after week 8 is also fine with me.

Maybe two groups of 7 and then a match for 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th place?
That would make 7 matches in total.

Yeah but yuou would need 8 weeks to play these matches since there is 1 week you do not play in ueven groups.
To keep things simple I would recommend a "random" draw and a two round ko stage.

If we get to 16 teams (and there is still a few days time for that if we start after matchday 8), we have space for 8 matches.
We could do 4 groups of 4 with home and away match and two round KO stage afterwards.

done. thanks Aggie for taking the initiative.
I hope that I won't end up last like last season... My switch to PM training may indeed have that effect...
EDIT: removed silly question regarding cup rules in last match....
If Roboo can please accept the friendly.

Hmmm... Starting with a 7-0 loss isn't the way to end higher than last season I guess... At least I had no injuries this time.

i wont be able to accept my challenge till monday this coming week as i'll be away till then.
Wow... Even with 60 and 63% of the ball I manage to lose the game vs BCLG. I'm jinxed...
And congrats to VCN with his first CDZ-cup win!

wow.. Simon has found his "rub salt deep in the lemon juice covered wounds" button [lol]
Yes it still hurts me, that game result. But yesterday a miracle happened and I actually won!
Uh oh....
A couple of days ago I decided to apply for 'Stage', the test web site of Hattrick.
Within Stage there is a new feature, which lets you search for friendlies easier. You can check which criteria should be met (country, level, etc...) and then it searcher for a match. But it appears that it also arranges the friendly immediately....
So to make a long story short. I played around a bit and accidently arranged a friendly.
I'm sorry Robboo that you have to find a new friendly, but you will at least win the game 0-5.........
Tubby Rower
29-08-2008, 14:57

I am thinking to loose al group matches, but I do not think I can drop down to your level to humiliate you in the final match.

I have a question to pose to the p-nut gallery...Is this acceptable? when ordering for place this is the order that I use...
points
wins
GD
GF
sex appeal
undoubtedly if I ever get to the point where the 5th tie breaker would be used, I would come out on top :D
Generally in real life football its done
points
GD
GF
GA
then wins i guess, don't think that its ever got to that.
barbu1977
04-09-2008, 20:33
Wins is not realy important here since football uses 3 points for win and 1 point for a draw.
North American sports usualy use 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw therefore making 2 draws and a win and a draw equal.
Having said that, if you look a previous editions of the cup, you'll find the usual tie-breaker rules.
Tubby Rower
04-09-2008, 20:41
ok since GD - GF = GA.. GA isn't needed if the previous two are tied then the 3rd will be tied too... So that ought to do it I really just wanted to know whether I was supposed to be in last place or 2nd to last.
points
GD
GF

Article 31-5 of the FIFA rule book:
The ranking of each team in each group will be determined as follows:
a) greatest number of points obtained in all group matches;
b) goal difference in all group matches;
c) greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.
If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows:
d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;
e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned;
f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned;
g) drawing of lots by the Organising Committee for the FIFA World Cup.

Little miracle here, you almost always beat me in your place iirc in the CDZ cup games. Also, I've got 2 key players still injured and had to field the training squad. But you could have had a fair chance against team A of mine as well especially considering murderous team spirit and home advantage.

ok.. I verified the wins/losses and the goal differential for those who were tied. The table was correct. I updated the KO round with who you are actually supposed to play. Remember to play cup rules so that you won't be relegated to a tied position.
I'm going to have MOTSed three games in a row (I've got a qualifier) so it looks like I won't win the CDZ cup for another year.
Might change my mind and PIC my qualifier instead.

The BLCG award went to the namesake of the award but narrowly!!!
quote: Clouds darkened the skies at The Shagpad as 2968 spectators turned up for the match. United decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Mishura - Talv, Manonell, Jiménez - Marini, Siljamäki, Dragomiroiu, Hep#351;en, Florindo - Mut, Hoff.
Meltdown started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Suonio - Ervin, Hill, Roeting - de Azevedo, Smith, Ferchaud, Cabiativa, Bitschnau - Panzeta, Liedland.
United took the lead in the 3:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Philip Hoff elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. United put themselves up 2 - 0 when Pere Manonell broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. After 24 minutes, Bahad#305;r Mut put United ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. Meelis Talv almost managed to score another goal for United, coming from the right, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors' keeper. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Meltdown enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
The away team reduced the score to 3 - 1, as Nicola Panzeta struck home, set up well by a play on the left in the 64:th minute. The home side's Bahad#305;r Mut came close to extending the lead in the 70:th minute. His shot came in on the right hand side but Aapo Suonio managed to save it by a fingernail. In the 83:th minute, Meltdown showed some good morale and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 2 when Joćo Aparecido de Azevedo got past the home side's full backs right in front of the goal. The visitors' Joćo Aparecido de Azevedo was alert on a play coming in from the left, tying the score at 3 - 3 in the 85:th minute. The left side created an opportunity for the visitors in the 86:th minute, and Nicola Panzeta wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 3 - 4 for the visitors. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Meltdown, with an impressive 57 percent possession of the ball.
Bahad#305;r Mut performed admirably for United. On the other hand, Meelis Talv's play was disheartening. Meltdown's best player was Léo Ferchaud. Brent Ervin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 4.
