I'm Hammurabi, this is on a small fractal map with 2 AI. My opening screen is below, more to follow. Popped the hut and got 41 gold.

So we met finally. It's 2600 BC and he's a good way away I think. Well by land anyways. I think he's just north of me across what I think is a gulf. Ottomans are to my extreme NE on the same continent. Oh, and Beorn is Dutch. Anyways, I saw his warrior but don't know where he went, but I know he was injured by a barb bear. Anyways, I'm hunting for his border to see if I can do a worker steal or possibly even catch him with a lone or no defender. You never know.

I went west a step and found the coast, so he's even further north...sheesh. Was gonna worker steal the ottomans, but I'd rather not hurt them yet if they're closer to Beorn than I am. Would just make easier pickings for him.

Well, things have started out slow for me. I did found Judaism, but other than that I'm getting whooped in a wide array of areas. Here's my first two cities below.

This third city was a barb city. I kept it mostly because my growth and production has been a bit behind. Figured a free city was worth it. I do have axes now though. The gods destroyed my farm once, and I've had several barbs come in and give me problems from the get go.

These next two pictures are overviews. one of the whole map, and the other of the two civs on our continent (Beorn and Mehmed). I had originally thought about stealing Mehmed's worker, but left it so he wouldn't be lagging behind if Beorn came after. Beorn has no religion though and Mehmed is Hindi, so he's not happy with me already and more likely to side with Beorn if Beorn plays it right.

Here's the latest demo screen. I'm sucking....bad. My GNP has improved slightly, but I'm still 4th of 4. Working on cottage spamming to get things going.

Techwise, I was going to try for an oracle sling to CS. But with Buddhism and Hinduism being founded so quickly I'm guessing the AI is gonna get it faster. I'm pondering changing research to monarchy and trying to bust out the oracle real quick so I can get longbows from theocracy.

Anyways, there's a gulf seperating Beorn and myself, and along ways to travel if not by sea. I'm gonna guess he'll be moving galleys in after awhile, so I'm gonna try and get some triremes busted out to stop him. Would be nice to make him waste production on units and galleys only to plunged those hammers to the bottom of the sea.

My research is dragging, so I'm going to try and finish this library and then set it for two scientist specialist. With Judaism, I'd love to get a prophet also so I can build Solomon's Temple and get the extra cash.

Crap, just realized that the oracle was built 2 turns ago :S

I have no idea what kind of starting spot he's got up there, but it must be a great one. I know I'm not the best of players, but I don't really think I suck as bad as this game is showing! I'm virtually last in every category, 200 points behind in score also. Jeez.

Anyways, mehmed hates me. He's a Hindu and I'm a Jew. Meanwhile he's spread his religion to Beorn.

I did, need to get a screenshot of it. I settled the city to the south in haste. Beorn was sending down a few soldiers and barbs were up everywhere. I didn't have archery yet so I settled on the copper. Was stupid I know.

Things that I did to screw myself, other than the above. I put 4 civs on a small map. Not terrible if I'm philo or financial, but I'm Hammurabi. So not having anyone next to me is dampering things a bit while being creative and financial is doing nothing but flourishing Beorns civ. I also should have stolen Mehmeds worker to hurt him. That was a backfire seeing that now both He and Beorn are Hindu brothers. Well, with the goal being to take out the human player he's now got a religious bond that will help take me out.

This is realy embarassing to be quite honest. I feel like I'm playing BCLG again. Outscored, out produced, out populated, out GNP'd, out gunned. Sheesh. This is the point where I'd like to start pounding on someone, but alas, there's no one near to do it. Beorn just needs to get down here and start harassing me a bit while he thrives.

I'm with KC for the #2 city's spot but even at that point it was already clear that I had a lead. With Mehmed's religion and open borders for trade, I don't see how you would have been back before I could strike. Good game!
