In about 21 hours Penelope and I will ge going "in ondertrouw" -> officially and legally engaged. After that we'll pick up the invitations from the printer and then I'll be off to my parents to buy the groom's clothes first thing tomorrow.

It's taking shape. [sunn]

It's an old thing. Your names would be on the town hall for all to see so people who could object for reasons like: "he can't marry her - he's married to me" could know and could object. Pre-database times, you know.

The real date is December 7th - the party is December 10th.

Grats again! And Orcas are already dressed in black and white, so that'll save a few euros on tuxedo ;)

Ha!

Though it is our yeartenial coming up, two weeks after my birthday so hopefully should get money from that to pay for the anniversary.

Rik if you didn't put it up on the town notice board could you not get married then?

Thank you - it was nothing. Filling in papers for 20 minutes and then paying over 300 Euro's and that's it.

After picking up the cards I went to my parents to have my mother and a good friend of hers (and mine), who is making the bride's <s>dress</s> clothes, accompany me for shopping for my clothes. And now we need to brush up the address list for the guests to send the cards out the coming week.

It's just like working - a bit. :D

I don't think Penelope will like that when giving birth .... [aargh]

you'd think she could have given that bit a thought when she said yes to marrying you then, no?
