Warlords disc not recognised but is?

Ok heres the story up till about a week ago the games were running fine, then i dual installed and then only vanilla worked, warlords wouldnt run saying that disc couldn't be found- even though i had managed to reinstall it and when it was installed i could see it on my computer, i could also click on it and then the autoplay would come up saying 'play game, readme, exit' but when i clicked on play game it would collapse and then say the correct disc could not be found. Then i uninstalled everything and found out my civ4 disc was broken. So new one from amazon got here today, install it patch it (1.6whatever), install warlords over the top-unable to run warlords-same problems as before, any ideas on what i can do?

My computer didn't recognise any disc as Warlords so far...oh, must be because I don't have Warlords...

yeah, im there but they don't have the latest fresh smelling scent which is mainly what i need to play games.

Have you tried clearing everything out and jsut installing everything from scratch (without the dual install)? The patches for warlords and nilla are global now so I would go ahead and patch everything up to current and then try the anti-funk version of the file. I suspect that once BtS updated the executable, that there was something screwed up in recognizing the disc.

I can't just patch everything is the problem, gotta play the mtdg turns at cfc/isdg and matrix's pitboss is still in the year 1999.

I still havent installed BtS, only got it today- i only installed the patches the other day :)

ok i uninstalled everything again, deleted any old resgistrys through the regestry editor thing (with help from FR), rebooted ran a registery scanner and still it wont fuckin work!

got warlords 2.08 to work by installing some minty freshness, can't play anything above that i dont think till they bring out minty fresh*2.

i think the only other computer it could run on has vista so i dont know can civ4 run on that?

Right warlords runs on the other computer (that in itself is causing problems). So that means its not a problem with the disc, has anyone got any ideas of just what i can do?

it came down to deleting one registry thing, now it works fine- cheers for the help cane!
